OP I think you'd be deeply disappointed if you came to the U.S. Around 70% of the people wouldn't even know what the United Kingdom is (srs)

Football is popular because of European cultural imperialism. The British sailors of the Royal Navy played a role in promoting the game throughout their travels. The UK conrolled 1/4 of the world.
Football is also a working class sport in Europe. It's a middle class sport in the US.
Playing football can also be expensive because of the boots. American football can be cheap too as it can be played without protection or even played by younger children/women as flag football. The concept is the same.
You can even play American football in a small patch of grass.
American sports are all speed and strength (except for the QB). Football is more about technique and intelligence.

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

listen redcoat, here's the deal with football: unlike soccer, there is time built in between plays specifically designed for recovering from how awesome football is and to shovel food and alcohol down your gullet. We have the capacity to really look forward to food, football, and global American supremacy at the same time.
Speaking of comebacks, don't forget America came back from a 13-0 colony deficit to win the revolutionary war.
anyway back to the bacon

Not quite the other side of the world is it? And people just watch the SB in the same way people watch a car crash, and because they're saddos with nothing better to do. Those same people don't follow the sport in general.
Americans and people from all around the world tune in every single week to watch the Premier League.
