There would be a static QR code scanner on the bar, to which the user would simply put their phone under the scanner for a few seconds at most, it would be quicker than paying via card.. it would be as quick as using contactless payment, it wont require any input from the bartender/bouncers as it will be automatically done by the system, the bartender can get on with pouring drinks etc

It wouldnt replace payment, a user would still have to pay with card/cash, but would then have to scan their phone before they pay for the goods.
So the process would be;
- Customer orders drink
- Barstaff make drink
- barstaff put order on till
- customer scans app (QR scanner will turn green instead of red to indicate they should scan)
- customer pays and receives points

I use local developers, an agency near where I live.
There's mixed reviews about using fiverr, I personally wouldn't;
1. They are mostly off shore which leads to poor communication and generally poor development because of it.
2. I need to work closely with the developers to make sure they're developing the app to work with physical items (QR Scanners & Tills)
3. You pay for what you get, in my opinion if you pay 50% less than most people for an app, you're app will be of poor quality.
Like I said there is mixed reviews, people will stand by cheaper developers as they have had good experiences, but other have stated they have had to pull the project and then pay someone else to fix it.
It's not cheap as you know, could be a possibility of you seeking an angel/VC investor if your app is a good idea but costs a lot of money.

I'm not a marketing major but from what I've heard/seen if you market it correctly and have a laser focus goal you stick to it will work out.
I recommend you read the free blog posts by Ramit Sethi who is very successful in helping people market and start a successful business. Tons of articles and he literally was the reason I started my own website. Cheers!San Diego Brah
