Lmaooo cavs are going to be a billion dollars over the cap and paying tristan thompson damn near 20 mill a year.
And if they don't keep TT that's a legit hit to their team, as much as lebronies want to believe the finals was all LeBron. TT's offensive rebounding is a fuking problem for opposing teams. annoying as hell

Word up, he gives you boards and defense, but he's not worth what he's asking. I mean, $80.......and you're saying no? Muthafukca, who are you? You're not the cornerstone of the franchise. Fukc outta here.

Lol if you really believe that
What you are seeing right now is the first moves to be made towards his exit...
Guess what TT and LeBron are from the same camp, and have the same agent
LeBron going to sit back in a poverty organization that can't retain its own talent let alone bring in new ones, while KD goes to Miami or another east team and forms a new super team?
LeBron has begun to publicly speak about Miami again, his camp came out and said the Mike Miller move was the right thing to do (the perceived beef between the two sides), and has complemented Riley's off-season moves
If this was Miami TT would be signing a 60 million dollar contract, and maybe LeBron can somewhat understand now that Pat Riley is pretty damn good at his job, especially when it comes to negotiations like these.
It is not about loyalty or promises to James, its about rings.
Would you rather have a core of Timothy, Kyrie, and Love
or
Wade, Bosh, Whiteside, Dragic, and Winslow with the better GM, no state tax, and a better free agent market for minimum guys trying to go ring chasing.
KD or LeBron one of them is ending up in Miami next season baring a complete collapse from the Heat next season
Are we really to believe LeBron is going to let KD join his old super team, in his own conference, and take his throne with a far better supporting cast....I really could not see LeBron's loyalty for the first time in his career trump his egoThe 1st Thon Maker Stan

Good for TT. I would love to see how the Cavs do with Kevin Love minus TT. I always thought TT was more valuable to the team than Kevin Love.
Is TT worth that kind of money? Probably not. But if he feels he's more valuable than 5 years 80 million then good for him. I'm pretty sure a bum team will offer him more money. We're in a league where Reggie freaking Jackson gets paid 16 million a year.

He's not going to get as good of an opportunity to show case himself this season playing behind Love.
He needs to take that money. Then again, Cleveland can offer him more and just pay the tax to go all in to actually try to win a chip for the first time. Love/TT is a really strong rotation at that position.Lakers|[great basketball]|Yeezy Season

TT is worth that amount, I have not seen a re-bounder at the 4 like this in my lifetime. He kept the Cavs in a lot of games, and extended a **** ton of possessions. We know LeBron is by far and away the best player there, but without Thompson dominating the post the Cavs would have gotten worked in the playoffs last season

Cavs are crazy for even offering that. Kick him to the curb, watch him get less from others and then fire his agent.

I know I'm in the minority but I honestly believe Kevin Love being out for the remainder of postseason, and TT getting the bulk of the minutes at the 4 really made Cleveland a stronger team. I too have never seen a rebounder at the power forward position like Tristan Thompson. Every time he's under the rim, it seems 80% of the time he will get the ball. It was just scary for someone who was rooting against the Cavaliers. They absolutely dominated the Eastern Conference and swept the #1 seed ATL Hawks for crying out loud. Cavaliers with Kevin Love would not sweep the ATL Hawks. People like to say Lebron didn't have enough help in the Finals while overlooking the fact that they basically dominated the Eastern Conference with essentially the same team. Kyrie was unreliable the entire postseason, not just in the Finals.
Kevin Love getting more minutes = overall team defense suffers, and Lebron getting the ball less on the offensive end. I would gladly take that if I was a coach of the opposing team.

Anyone who's saying he's worth this amount, even after the cap jump, is out of their god damn mind. He's literally a poor man's Kenneth Faried. He can't score, he can't play D in most situations, and he's somehow an average to below average defensive rebounder. How does being a ridiculously specific specialist warrant 1/5 of the salary cap?
I still truly believe that you could have put in Ed Davis or Bismack Biyombo in Thompson's role in the finals and they would have done the exact same, if not better, and played much better defense. Thompson needs to suck Lebron's dick every morning to thank him for even allowing him to get this kind of offer instead of being a greedy ******* that's going to end up Latrell Sprewelling himself.

What image are you talking about....You know that exposure is the main thing that drives a brand right....You can say a lot of things but LeBron leaving both times around was great for his brand and his exposure. I just can't take people seriously who don't think LeBron will make the best buisness decision....he has always done that
Give me a better re-bounder at the 4, I was too young to remember Rodman so somebody post Jordan era pleaseThe 1st Thon Maker Stan

What was I like 7 at the time....I mean yah I can take people at their word for it, but I never saw him play night in and night out. So I would say in the amount of time I have actually followed the NBA on a daily basis and know what the **** I am seeing....Thompson appears to be the best rebounder at the 4 that I can recall

And you blew your entire post by claiming Hassan Whiteside as hype....Never go full retard bro
Also would much rather have a complete player who can distribute in Dragic than a one dimensional injury issue in Irving. How you going to tell me Wade is done when Kyrie arguably has worse injury issues...How many playoff games did Wade miss in the big 3 Era?The 1st Thon Maker Stan

I wouldn't go that far. PG is a very important position because of the talent the NBA has right now at that position. Kyrie is a much better player at his position than TT is at his. I don't think TT is worth 16m a year but he's not far off. We're in a league where everyone gets overpaid, so why not TT? I'm with you on the fact that TT is underrated. People tend to overlook how important offensive rebounding is, and TT is by far the best in the league at that.

Lol at how every year people say Wade is done, dude just averaged 21 5 and 4 on 47% last year, he isn't a superstar anymore but he's still and WILL be an All-star. Bosh's ailment is not chronic, he's recovered and will be 100% ready. Gotta love people having this false notion that he's somehow injury-prone when this was just a health issue not some debilitating injury. Whiteside is still 7ft with a 7'7 ft wingspan and explosive vert, great hands and impeccable timing for blocks last time I checked. Dude will continue to put up De-Andre-like numbers, will lol when haters get mad seeing Whiteside continue to dominate.
To the topic at hand, it's a lose-lose situation for the cavs regarding the TT case, pay your back four 17-18m or he's gone. They'll win 54-59 wins, make the ECF at worst but both scenarios hurt their team in the long term.
