So, I stopped by a local compounding pharmacy that stocks quite a few supplements when I was diagnosed with mono to see what they could recommend to help boost my immune system to fight it. They recommended this stuff called Pelargonium Sidoides. I have never heard of it but I have done business with this pharmacy before and they are excellent at recommending natural supplements. I have been taking it a couple weeks and it seems like the mono has "ended" a lot quicker than I would have thought. I am currently finishing out the bottle to make sure there is no relapse. Anyway, it is normally recommended for bronchitis but according to them there is a lot of research indicating it is a great antiviral in general and can help even specifically with mono. Have you all heard of this? The studies out there seem pretty supportive of its effectiveness. Just wanted to pass along the info on it and see if anyone has had experiences with it!

Very interesting.
I have been frequently ill and my father, which is a doctor, told me to try Leucogen, a remedy of Ache which is a Calf Thymus Extract.
According to webmd.com: "Taking calf thymus extract by mouth seems to reduce the number of infections or coughing attacks in patients who get repeat respiratory infections. Calf thymus extract alone, or in combination with vaccine, seems to be more effective than vaccine alone or antibiotics in reducing the number and duration of infections in adults with recurrent respiratory infections."

It works. There is a product called Umcka (You read that right) that I've been taking since I was a kid. I swear to you, that thing can nearly cure the common cold. It is an amazing product with many benefits to it. However, if you are looking for immunity, Vitamin C and Garlic are both very good. There is a product called C boost that they sell at wal-mart pretty cheap that provides lots of vitamin C which you need when you are sick and to prevent sickeness.

Do you take it everyday? How do you dose it?
Since the first post, I've made some investigation on it and it seems to be very very good.

Why isn't this stuff more popular?!? It isn't expensive. I have been dosing Vitamin C three times a day along with my normal Orange Triad that has Echinacea in it. Both of those are fairly well known to boost the immune system but there are studies that indicate they do nothing as well! I have used the product from Integrative Therapeutics that contains the Pelargonium and as soon as it runs out I am going to be picking up another bottle to keep on hand for those common colds and what not. I just can't believe something that has been studied quite a bit AND is incredibly effective hasn't been made more popular. Thanks for sharing Umcka. Looks like good prices on it as well.

I just take it whenever I feel a sickness coming on or when it has hit me.
Echinacea is pretty good I HEAR, but there needs to be more research on it. Pelargonium sidoides though or in the product "Umcka" I can promise you, it is everything and more at immunity.COUNTRYMIKE APPRECIATION CREW
