    Caffiene-light pre workout

I know that this is asked often, but different people always have different opinions on what is good. I am looking for a new pre-workout that is light on caffeine or that is caffeine free. I would prefer something with 100mg or less since I am trying to kick the habit. My blood pressure was nearing pre-hypertension and I cannot afford to be pushing any type of cardiovascular limits with my family's history of high BP.

    Recommendations?

Hey maxwell I was researching this as well, I am still waiting on opinions but I found these pre-workouts to be the most effective:
EVP (most natural and stim free pre workout) this one is a bit expensive though
    Magnum Opus
    Peak Perform

Also I researched the actual ingredients in the pre workouts and it seems like pure carnosyn is a great single ingredient pre workout.
    Heres a good article:

For low stim, scivation psycho, cellucor c4, muscletech neurocore are all good options but if your having high blood pressure issues you may want to just look into stim free or building your own preworkout that is based for focus, pumps, endurance.

Amino Energy from ON might be a good option, each scoop is 50 mg caffeine and so you could easily do 50/100/150 if you wanted to try different amounts. Tastes good and the amino content could be helpful, although it does not contain anything else that would help your workout in terms of focus/pump/etc.

I'm can't handle stimulants to save my life and I usually use stim free PWO's.

Stim free PWO's I can recommend are I-force Hemavol, Controlled Labs White Pump and ANS Dilate...

The only PWO with stims I've found manageable is Arnold Iron Pump. It was good for pumps and energy. It's especially good for people sensitive to stims as I found it's just the right amount of caffeine. It's good value for money as well in comparison to others...

    Hmmm.

I would talk to your doctor about this. I know that a lot of doctors aren't well-versed on sports supplements, so bring an ingredient list instead of naming supps, but I feel like there are other ingredients that may be contraindicated (or at the very least, worth being cautious about) with hypertension. For example, I think (but am not 100% sure, so don't quote me on this, talk to your doctor instead) glycerol can potentially cause increased blood pressure because of its effect on blood volume. That's an ingredient in a lot of pump products, whether as glycerol monostearate (GMS) or HydroMAX glycerol.

Volt, C4, and Psycho are great pre-workouts, but i would make sure you consult your doctor first and foremost regarding taking these with the high BP.

This ON amino energy is basically powdered caffeine, pretty mild and works for a quick boost, although the amino acid profile is quite under dosed and out dated, if your simply using it for energy boost it does a nice job.

Pe1 is 150. On amino energy is lightly caffeinated. C4 and volt are just above 100mgs caffeine. One to look into is ampd recovery by bb.com. Orange mango tastes good, and is exactly 100 Mgs caffeine

If you're trying to kick the habit going totally stim free is the way to do it, imo.
