I'm not talking about the really creepy things like stalking or saying "SMILE!"

But people who shout out stuff like "Damn, nice abs", or "Damn, nice ass".

I've legit never heard a women catcalled (srs). I worked downtown Atlanta for five years and walked to lunch every single day with groups of women past construction zones. Never heard a catcall over a five year period...

Is catcalling a northern thing or just an overblown thing that almost never occurs?

I'm not the type who freaks out if someone says hi to me, but I don't like being shouted at. Its rare though, and my body is never really on display to get comments like that, so if someone shouts or whistles etc I just ignore them.

Maybe it is a northern thing. In the South catcalls aren't as common. Although some guys do intently stare, which is uncomfortable. Usually its creepy looking or ugly guys. But attractive men rarely make inappropriate calls/comments in Texas. Southern charm perhaps?

In maine-I take it as a compliment lol..maybe I'm in the minority but it doesn't happen 24/7: here in texas I don't get little yells out cars though..it's men(mainly Mexican) that will pull over and offer u rides or ask u how much..even if wearing hoodie and jeans.
