That's what he gets. Don't knock people out (especially women), and none of this ever happens. Is it really that hard to keep from hitting people in the face, especially those you claim to love.

So after the NFL handed down a 2 game suspension and Steven A Smith spoke on the issue(men can be provoked), the sports talk has been crazy with opinions on men hitting women and "being provoked". Shockingly, some men say it is ok to hit women, what is your take? Maybe i am old fashioned but i was taught it is a no-no and get the hell away! Opinions?

I've been going back and forth with friends on this issue all day and the one thing that I keep coming back to is this: What if it was your wife, girlfriend, sister, mother or daughter getting knocked out by a grown man even if she provoked him? I say get away or restrain if there is no other option. Punching a female like she's a dude you have beef with is completely unacceptable.

No it is not, but i guess the media frenzy, repetition, and his wife's instagram comments makes you think about how they as a couple are being treated.

The world is a different place. There are cameras everywhere. Vandals, thieves, bullies and spouse abusers be aware. STOP IT. He was suspended for terrible violence. I see highly paid multiple million dollar professional athletes, especially those also being compensated for several corporate ad campaigns, to always represent their employers in anything they do. They're basically on the job all the time and when I'm on my job (either in the office or at company events), violence against anyone is grounds for immediate termination.

I don't know why saying not hitting women is old school it's not. It's a product of feminism that we accept it as wrong. Old school is never hit a women in public, you took care of it at home. Not saying it's right I don't think anybody should be hitting anyone. But what bothers me is how a nation of laws as the US is, can't even follow it's own laws. By the definition of domestic violence and assault both ray and his now wife should of been charged. But I guess that does not matter if you are a female. Pisses me off

That's a BS answer Oceanside. I never advocated hitting women or anybody else. I addressed the old school principle which never exsisted. Did Ray rice do wrong absolutely. Is the court system screwed up absolutely. I didn't expect a fith grade answer from you. You might think different if your son gets screwed by the legal system. Females are princess. Guys are meat. The fact of the matter is that there where gentlemen schools and lady schools that most people to some extent covered the topic of discipline, part of that was how to disipline your wife. Year after year some of the top selling books covered these topics. We'll into the late 70's no one said shyte.

sure, but the people that went to such schools were what they consider themselves as high class people, or the sniffy lot since you're in Europe. you don't get more respect by beating your wife or kids down because they acted or said something out of line.
