strongly disagree here. IWD's shotcalling is atrocious towards the second half of the season. They won games off pure mechanics from adc/top. It's been confirmed that Piglet doesn't trust Quas and didnt want Quas to play carry tops (when Quas should). Piglet is tearing the team apart because he's a little diva and TL is bending over backwards for him when he's not anywhere near the level/worth he was at S3 worlds.

from the games seen so far i'd say C9 >= CLG >>> TSM > TL
The biggest surprise is how unimpressive CLG is currently. DLift is playing out of his mind but zion/pob aren't impressing me yet at worlds. Pob > bjergson recently imo but isn't showing me it

Everyone sans Febiven and Rekkles played like absolute dog ****, especially Huni. Huni looked like he completely disrespected ahq with his potato decisions early and it looks like people continually sleep on LMS. FW and ahq are not teams you can just roll over with ease: Ziv is a ****ing monster and someone from China should open up the checkbook and pay this kid a TON. Karsa and Maple are two very, very good players in their own right on FW.

Darius is absolute dog**** in competitive play as well. Fiora is so, so much more OP yet doesn't get picked in competitive. Darius gets kited far too easily and this is a team comp that actually gives Darius a ton of power since Sivir, Ori, and Annie all sped up Darius and Olaf, who actually got masterfully countered by Tahm Kench (who is also hilariously OP, props to ahq for bringing him out).

TSM's biggest problem is that it literally is Bjergsen 1v5ing. This doesn't work against elite competition. Lustboy is basically a liability at this point and needs to go back to the Janna or something because him playing hard engage champions is fking TSM up since they are clearly not all on the same page. Santorin is basically a human green ward. Dyrus is basically useless because if he's not being hung out to dry he just isn't as good of a player as the likes of sOAZ, Ssumday, and soon to be Acorn on top of the fact that he's already mentally checked out and ready to retire. WildTurtle isn't even the problem when you have 3 massive anchors holding down the rest of the team.

Underestimated how well the Western teams would do, games are actually interesting to watch since it isn't just a SSW and SSB stomping ground. Also the Chinese teams are getting absolutely dicked except for EDG. Would rather have seen QG instead of IG. If Faker won his second championship, that would be a great story.

As a long time TSM fan, I kinda hope they do. Regi and Hotshot are very similar in that Hotshot after every season ends up giving a speech about how he knows what the team's problems are and that they are going to fix them except the same **** happens the next season. It's the exact same with Regi except it happens at World's every year instead of the LCS. Granted it doesn't help that TSM always seems to get stuck in the hardest groups, but it's about time that they see that even though they may be able to make top 3 in NA consistently, they are bottom of the barrel in the greater view of things. Especially this year.

came back to LoL after a break. out of 5 games, 2 games had 2 afk in my team. can't win those. might be server issues or whatever, but they were afk from the start.

last game i played i was vayne, in lobby before game stated 5th pick said they don't sup. took annie. in game, proceeded to use Q/W and auto to last hit all creeps. i wasn't pushing lane vs ez/braum. so got no farm/no gold.

waste of a few hours. the community is pure **** and i can't see it ever improving. this is in silver but i hear it is the same in gold?

Wait until you get to plat, it's a point where some people understand that they're good, but not great. But where the majority of people think that they're faker and can carry the game solo. Therefore every time they die or make a mistake it's somebody elses fault no matter how ridiculous it may seem. Then they'll proceed to flame you for the rest of the game or just afk, then if you get put with them the next game they'll troll

Got a question for seasoned vets. When the players pick their champs are they trying to counter the other teams comp? Or is it more of who has better synergy together?

I see a lot of Braum, tristans and LuLu if not banned picked.

bit of both, usually first pick is crucial pick to what their team comp is going to be and hard to "counter" pick. I mean the other team will def pick a counter if it fits in with the way they want to build their comp. Trist doesn't really have a counter and shreds towers. Lulu has amazing utility and can create kog juggernauts. Not sure why braum is so popular.

That's the whole importance of drafting.

Counters, team synergy, focused team compositions(juggermaw, poke, engage/disengage), etc. many games are won from pick/ban

A team needs to draft around a win condition (engage vs poke: win condition of engage comp is to engage and not let poke composition get into a seige). Some early game comps NEED to be winning within 20 min otherwise the champs fall off and lose lategame game regardless

That's why i got the basic rune pages, the discount was perfect timing. I actually grabbed an IP boost when they announced the discount.

Braum is a safe pick into anything in the bot lane, whether it's competitive or solo queue.

Tristana is the safest ADC who is relevant all game long now because you will be able to have a tower edge.

Lulu isn't that great in solo queue unless you get very far ahead (which is possible, she is an outstanding laner) or you have your own teammate who is incredibly strong.

The reason why all three are picked in competitive is because they "fit" the meta right now. All three of these champs can kite juggernauts (Lulu slow, Braum Q + Ulti + Passive, Trist Rocket Jump + Ulti). Lulu is a very safe and versatile laner [huge in competitive, since you'll notice that red side almost always counter picks for their mid lane] and enhances your top laner or your ADC to go hard carry (if she's picked top, expect a hyper carry like Jinx, Trist, etc; if she's picked mid, expect a Juggernaut or something like an Olaf that will make use of her speed boosts).
