I know about 5-HTP and valerian root but people seem to be able to get addicted to those as well (correct me if I'm wrong).
I just need something that can help me get to sleep. Once I'm asleep I'm fine. I just lay there for an hour, sometimes 2 before I actually feel like I've hit a deep enough sleep. It's really making it hard for me to get up and go to the gym lately. Old age is starting to creep up on me I'm afraid. I never use to have this problem!!
So yeah...is there anything that can just help me fall asleep that won't make me groggy after 6 hours of sleep and not habit forming?

A couple of sleep aid supps that have really helped me out is Ronnies Resurrect PM and Formutech's REM 8.0. Both of them did a great job in knocking me out (didnt wakeup once) and also woke up refreshed and not groggy. I also didnt need a full serving for either product and still had a great nights sleep.

Being more active and working harder throughout the day, more intense gym sessions.
Better sleep hygiene, as in refraining from electronics, tv, computer, etc.. an hour or two before bed.
Melatonin may help you, but I always get groggy the next morning whenever I use it.NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist

None of the ones mentioned would produce serious dependence/tolerance issues. All would be extremely safe to use. Obviously cycling is good for all supplements, but in terms of what you could be taking, the above are good options.
I like Relora/Ashwaghanda as well. You can find them in Nimbus's new sleep product - Abyss.NSCA-CSCS and CPT

OP - have you checked out LiGHts Out yet?
That, any companies legit ZMA, and melatonin, and maybe some phenibut(occasional use) would be the way to go.
edit: thanks diesel, I forgot about Abyss Unparalleled...another awesome option!Last edited by VaughnTrue; 12-31-2013 at 06:24 AM.

I ve used several. I have been using REM 8.0 when I need help getting to sleep. Melatonin does not help me fall asleep but does keep me asleep. Often I h e trouble getting to sleep. Products with phenibut help out a lot. Rem 8.0 has a good profile and really gets me asleep fast.
I have used MAN's REM PM with good results. It was the first GABA product I used and worked well.
Good luck it sucks not being able to sleep.Formutech Nutrition Athlete and Rep

I had a problem with this for years (falling asleep). Even when I'm dead tired I still lay in bed and have problems falling asleep.
Over the years I tried a number of different products and the two best (by far) have been iForce's LiGHts Out and AI's 3z. Can't go wrong with either one and I never double dosed them or anything, I just took them exactly how the recommended dosage suggested.

Low doses of Melatonin are great, but the problem is that you develop a tolerance very quickly to its effects.
I would focus on relaxation before you go to bed, to develop a habit preparing yourself for sleep. Something like Lights Out or Resurrect PM would help you sleep better.Krispy Kreme Krew Forever.

Lavender spray. Get it from most health shops.
Cut down on caffeine. Dont drink water after 7pm. Get in a routine of sleeping at the same time every night. Don't lay in your bed unless you're going to bed. Don't use your tv/computer in your room. Don't lay in bed using your phone.life only opens the door to women, i kick the fuker down and rape all the women ~ WackoJackoo

This is what I use. ON makes a super cheap melatonin on here, but it is a 3 mg dose. Personally I've never experimented with less, but I use it on occasions where I'm restless. I've never tried any other "sleep aid" products with multiples ingredients so can't comment.
I haven't heard about tolerance to 5-htp and valerian, but I know that some people have adverse reactions to the latter.Back in action.

5-HTP + GABA or for something more potent, 5-HTP + phenibut.
