Before and after

Interbreeding diseases, nonfunctional legs, weird proportions for what they think is aesthetic or artsy or sells, can't breed without medical interventions, dying from grown skulls, etc..
Many of so called dog lovers and breeders ruined many species of dogs over the last 100 years, sure is shame

There's another thread about this that was posted a couple days ago. This is what happens when people breed for the show ring instead of the breed's job function. Boxers, gsds, bull terriers, golden retrievers, etc. It happens with every popular breed and it's sick they breed for some of these body deformations.

The biggest problem is the people breeding to make money. They breed chit quality dogs and other uninformed people buy them. Thus the cycle goes. It is unfortunate. I am a lover of dogs bred for their specific capacity. I hate seeing working dogs turned to trash.
The Belgian Malinois (one of my favorite breeds) is still pretty close to the original standard and probably a bit better than the original dogs.OEF IX, X, XI, XII vet

^^ I agree .. Its big money and You can't stop it no matter what.. Kind of like veal.. You can stop ordering/buying it.. Doesn't mean it won't be available all the time ..I've seen too many healthy dogs die from strange complications.. Can't help but think this is why..

Yep. Another example is the American Pit Bull Terrier v the American Staffordshire Terrier. They were bred from the exact same blood years ago. The AST was created for the ''look'' of the fighting dog without the reputation.

AST:
And there was quite a riff in the community when people were registering American Bullies under the name of American Pit Bull Terrier. They ended up breaking off and forming their own breed and club for American Bullies.

The first dog looks straight up retarded now.
I've always heard that purebreds have higher risk for certain diseases and joint disorders. I guess inbreeding doesn't work after all, huh?

This is false. Inbreeding is a great tool IF you know what you are doing. You have to remember that whatever traits you are trying to preserve will double up; both the good and the bad. It's also a great way to see any recessive traits that may pop up in your stock. I have plenty of dog that are inbred with no problems.
It's not all physical changes. Many breeds' temperaments have been ruined along with health due to breeding solely for looks."The Bible is an anvil that has worn out many hammers."

That's why you go to the pound and pick up a mutt. A life saved and not a SINGLE f*** given about what other people think of my dog.
If your dog has better breeding than you do, you are doing it wrong. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - - Carpe - - hear it? - - Carpe, carpe Landīca, seize IT boys, make your lives extraordinary.

Source?
Every purebred dog will be inbred to an extent, but when most breeders talk about inbred dogs they mean directly inbred; mother-son, father-daughter, sister-brother. Then you can have linebred such as cousin-cousin, uncle-niece, grandparent-grandchild. Then there's the direct outcross of bloodline A-bloodline B.
Inbred doesn't equal bad breeding."The Bible is an anvil that has worn out many hammers."
