Yes, I do, which was one of the reasons I found 300 a waste of time. You realize the original 300 movie was far from accurate history right? The movie was based on a comic book that was very loosely based on the Spartans, or do you think Xerxes was actually a 12ft tall transvestite? There was very little about that movie that was historically accurate. I enjoyed the History Channel's 2 hour special on the topic far more.
So, do U even history?BrinkZone, Where Bro-Science Got Rabies and Died!

We need a new ideology with the core values of reason, honesty, science and secular progress over the older traditions of religion, superstition and dogmatic faith that have long defined humanity. We will never be free to progress and advance until the last stone from the last church is cast down onto the last priest. And every equivalent.

All I am saying is it was ****ing cheesy and I cringed whenever she talked in the trailer. When she started to look/act tough, I cringed even more.
Perhaps redo the dialogue or make her talk less. Show her killing ****/action/whatever and less cheesy dialogue. And/or perhaps put in a woman who actually knows how to kick ass (like some MMA chick who can beat up untrained dudes for example).

To me, the actual event is amazing, why fictionalize it at all? It's an astounding story, and thinking it was based on the actual history (vs a goofy comic book) left me less than impressed with that movie. My bad, should have checked. It had some cool visuals for sure (but looked like all the movies that director makes) but that was about it for me. Them Spartins fighting in red capes and loin clothes and CGI added abs, was to idiotic for my tastes.
From that director, I liked Sin City much more as I knew what to expect and knew it was just fun fiction.BrinkZone, Where Bro-Science Got Rabies and Died!

I dont have a problem with a woman being a commander, strategist, whatever, seems not only plausible but likely.
However, once a female starts wading into a battle with a sword, is when I cringe a bit.
On topic though, I liked the first one for what it was. Hopefully the second is good, but typically with highly stylized movies, the sequels don't come out very well.

I was hoping they would do the 2nd movie as the Battle of Plateau (sp?). They ended the first movie at that point and it would have been cool to see them gather their forces, go to Athens, collect folks, see Xerxes demolish the country-side, and then show a massive final battle based on true events.... that would be epic.
I can't see the trailer but I don't care if its a chick lead role or not, as long as it goes with the theme and is believable to the story they are portraying. Poor acting and beta males are a greater disappointment. If there is no "then we will fight in the shade" awesomeness, son I will be disappoint.
For those bemoaning the true story, there was a 300 Spartans movie that came out long ago. It is probably far closer to the truth - no giant monsters with axes for arms, and a good story. Can watch that if you're ok with 50's-60's movie quality.
