I got told to start benching to help with shoulder stability specifically for the snatch, don't know about Olympic lifters in general but I guess it serves some sort of purpose. But again, I dont know what I'm talking aboot

Shoulder stability in the snatch is gained by internally rotating the shoulders (elbows kept back), shrugging up and pushing the head through. Try that right now with a broom handle or towel, stable as fug. But yes, bench helps, mainly for tricep strength.
This is something to do, if you can with just the bar. Good channel to sub to, just to watch a grill outlift everyone in this thread.

I do that exercise too, but thanks for the advice anyway. I think it's called a sots press? I might be wrong as usual. Do it as part of warm up, and if i'm feeling particularly shiitty between sets
Ronnie pls. My snatch is great, as is my grooming.

I got my Power Perfects a half size bigger because I have wide feet, feel great. Took a while to get used to them though but hope your class goes well. I find it so interesting because it's quite technical, and even after months and months i'm still shiite but enjoying the learning process.
Been doing overhead presses (military press and snatch press (don't know what it's called)) on Mondays, more a confidence issue but I'm slowly getting there and a couple of the powerlifters/strongmen folk said I've got great form which is always pleasant to hear. I seem to be stronger with the C/J, but it may be because I didn't snatch for a while, still isn't anything to shout about though. I've been squatting twice a week for the past couple of months and 3 times a week for the last month or so and generally seeing improvements because of that. I still feel like a beginner to lifting, so always welcome advice and assistance work that would benefit me.
Sure, i'll snap my snatch when I'm back in the gym on Saturday.

poor guy, you wouldn't think that much weight could snap your schit like that, must have hit in just the wrong place, hard cheese.
snatches are great and fun but once you get up to around bodyweight schit can get pretty real if your out of position.
i actually think stopping oly lifting and getting all my focus back on the big 3 was one of the best things for my training.I do it because i can, i can because i want to, i want to because you sed i couldent.

It's because he was sat on the floor when it hit him at either the bottom of his cervical spine or top of his thoracic. The force would have transmitted down his spine until it got to his lumbar, where he'd have been slightly out of position, and snapped his chit from there.

On the discussion of clothes. I'm not big at all but finding a shirt and jeans that fit properly is next to impossible unless you wanna pay through the nose.

You can always find cheap clothes that fit well. And in my opinion, fit is way, way, way more important than what you're actually wearing. It might be a £200 shirt but no one gives two ****s if it doesn't fit well. The guy with the £15 shirt is gonna look way better if the shirt fits well.

Tfw the only shirts I have that fit tight/nicely at both shoulders and waste are Large size hollister ones.
All my work/business shirts are ok on delts but floaty as fook around the lower back and waist. Hate wearing shirts crew.
^agree with that, however with an unusual body ratio finding a cheap shirt that will fit nicely is hard. Would need to get some tailored but £££Guitar Crew
