Well?
What do you currently do? How long have you been doing it?
How happy are you doing it?
Does it pay well (lower/middle/upper) ?
Did you get a degree in that field, and if so was it worth it?
Is there enough pay to compensate for not being happy (if you aren't), or is there enough happiness to compensate for being broke?
What do you like most?
Least?

I did a phone interview today for another job.
i did it from my bosses desk at work while they were in a meeting."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Working in sales, my plan B (but have been doing this longer than I was in the field I went to school for, GIS). Pay sucks but I have a cool boss and a month of vacation.
I am probably gonna start a few affiliate websites and see if I can parlay that into some technical writing gigs...who know though. I can see myself thinking of the next ShamWow or something kooky like that, as well.

What do you currently do? How long have you been doing it? 'Process technician' at a sugar factory.. been there about a year and a half now.
How happy are you doing it? I actually enjoy it for the most part, especially my coworkers.. the job would suck without them. Some days are rough and stressful when stuff goes wrong because it can go wrong REAL quick.
Does it pay well (lower/middle/upper) ? $21-23/hour.. it varies throughout the year... then there is a lot of mandatory overtime and occasional shifts I can pick up
Did you get a degree in that field, and if so was it worth it? no education whatsoever was required to get this job.. apparently a lot of people hate factory jobs.. =p
Is there enough pay to compensate for not being happy (if you aren't), or is there enough happiness to compensate for being broke? I'm happy with the job and content with life at the moment.. I'm perfectly fine with what I'm getting paid, especially since I live in a low cost of living area.
What do you like most? coworkers & pay
Least? the dupont shift schedule.. ****ing awfulMy life feels like a never ending journey of fighting morons.. every single day.

HVAC, just a helper as of now. May will make 2 years and probably will be moved up from a helper to a tech. So that will make for a nice pay raise but I don't like the work much. It kind of depresses me to think i'm probably going to have to work the next 30-50 years of my life. That just sounds like sh!t lol

Did you get a degree in that field, and if so was it worth it?no degree
Is there enough pay to compensate for not being happy (if you aren't), or is there enough happiness to compensate for being broke? Enough compensation to make up for unhappy part
What do you like most? Pay/easy work

What do you currently do? Government Contracting Negotiator
How long have you been doing it? 3 years
How happy are you doing it? 6.5 ish most days. It's intriguing and policy is ever changing, gots to read, read, read.
Does it pay well (lower/middle/upper) ? Middle. $62k now. Potential to get over $120k with director title and experience.
Did you get a degree in that field, and if so was it worth it? No such degree, only certificates. My degree is in IT.
Is there enough pay to compensate for not being happy (if you aren't), or is there enough happiness to compensate for being broke? No, government pay freeze and pushed down to contractors in the agency we support. I really want telecommuting privileges back that I had with my old company.
What do you like most? My management team empowers and pushes me every day to learn and succeed.
Least? There are uneducated idiots everywhere, and always go with the standard "that's the way we've always done/interpreted it" motto and don't have citations or policies or ability to think creatively outside their little boundary.Last edited by poisonivvy; 11-14-2013 at 07:39 PM.

Commercial cable technician ( I run cable lines in businesses for their installs)
Work alone, no office bs.
I fukin love it, some place new everyday meet new ppl everyday, have a new puzzle everyday
I have time frames but I don't really give a damn about them, brb everybody wants 8-12 timeframe so I get 6 of them, each 20mins apart.
Making 135-400 a day depending on how many jobs I wanna take.
Only problem is I got to pay for my own gas.
Went to school for something completely else and picked this up cause I was jobless college grad.
And it's fun as fuk

Airline pilot, been doing it since I was 25, just turned 33......
Very happy. I hardly ever work and when I do it's usually one or two flights then off to the hotel pool/bar with the crew
Like anything else, some days are more "work" when the weather is ****ty and your gone on holidays/family events it's tough but I worked one day in October and three so far in Nov beard is getting thick.
Pays well now, but first few years were crap.
Got a history degree from Rutgers
Though the pay sucked at first I got to fly around a multi-million dollar airplane and got to visit some great places.
The pay is much better now, the airplane is larger and newer and the Flght attendants are usually young & a lot of fun (potential trouble)
I'd say the best part is the view

Overnight at a center for autistic adults with behavior problems. Been there 4 years
I'm so-so with it at this point
It pays lower, close to minimum wage
No degree in the field
There is a lot of overtime available, and the working conditions have gotten better over the years due to less and less client aggressions
I like the shift the most. No real managers/ceos/etc to bother me
I dislike going to war with some 250 lb STRONG AS FUUK patients that like to attack people for little to no reason. It can be dangerous (staff have gotten broken noses, vicious bites, teeth knocked out, etc)instagram.com/blackwellmuscle
