The high bar squat and the deadlift gives a good balanced development of the quads and the posterior chain. When I used to train low bar squats (which seems to gain popularity) and deadlifts which both is posterior chain dominant my quads was underdeveloped, especially my VMO.
Which leads me to think that the low bar squat and deadlifts aint really the perfect combo for developing good balanced leg strength. Doesn't low bar and front squats give more sense then low bar and deadlifts?
Ofc if you are a competing powerlifter using the low bar technique, training deadlifts is way more important then front squats. While both low bar squats and deadlifts are very taxing, I do ofc realize that you can indeed do more then two exercises for you lower body, but since so many train just low bar and deadlifts without even being in a powerlifter federation I thought it would be an interesting question.
