Before i started lifting i was skinny fat addicted to weed and alcohol, took one good look at my self when i was 17 and vowed to change my life forever, started weight traning. I used to get made fun of by my family and friends because ofvthe decision i took to improve my self mentally and physically . 2-3 years later their coming to me for advice my friends and some of my family memebers told me they did not wanna be left behind by seeing the results that im getting.

I see bodybuilding as a way to meditate and channel your thoughts into action
dreaming to live insane but i will maintain

I always just think if I don't go to the gym for an hour or so 5-6 days a week what else would I be doing in that time. I rather be in the gym improving myself instead of being at home on my laptop or watching tv, only other hobby I have is basketball and struggle to play with a knee injury which Im rehabbing in the gym so yeah.

In on "my life is a lie" thread. Truth I've learned is that no one but sloots really care about your muscles and will treat you any different. Difference is, you THINK they will, and you'll be more confident. But is the money and time spent on it really worth it? YOLO after all. I would recommend staying natty and lifting just to keep low BF% and not look like a wimpy pole. No sups, no excessive macro counting.

I don't lift as a bodybuilder so this claim doesn't apply to me.

3x a week. can get my **** done in an hour if I really needed to and some days I do. I feel happier now than I did before. Made me that much stronger in my athletics too. The benefit of feeling healthier and strong is great. Plus when I was 160 pounds @ my height, I felt sick, all I did was drink soda all day, went through two 2 liter orange sodas a day and only ate McDonalds and fast food. Only reason why I wasn't fat was because I rode a bmx bike everywhere and walked everywhere, + was a wrestler and did track.

    - Lift 3 times a week
    - Play basketball/soccer/squash 1-3 times a week with friends
    - Eat whatever I want 90% of the time
    - Cut every now and then when I've gained a bit too much fat

Result: look better than 95% of the population; not that bad at all OP

brb I can't believe this is how my life turned out, spending hours upon hours in my room and making sure I am getting all my notes right before worrying about other more important things in life, all for what? being able to play a guitar? pathetic, it's ****ing sad. Yes I attract more girls now but who givs a sh*t anyway, that skinny f*cker with a hot chick is stylin on ur ass and he doesn't even play guitar.

actually i'm at a point in my life where i'm secure because of lifting, I can walk around feeling good about myself as opposed to constantly thinking about how skinny I am and how I wish I was bigger.

just because you can't feel secure from lifting doesn't mean noone else can..

Once you stick with it you realize that its really good thing. It teaches you to eat decently and fairly healthy, not to drink a lot or at all, get good sleep etc.
Maybe you're one of them broscience motherfukers who think that all you can eat is broccoli and chicken. If you are one of them then its your own fault for not doing proper research.

For me its 4-5h a week of working out, depending on what program I'm currently doing. I spend maybe 15min a day on actual macro counting. All I do is: eat cereals/yoghurt/pizza in the morning and note the cals. Then during the day I get some 200-300g of chicken fried/cooked + some veggies/pasta. I also record that. When I get home I just eat whatever to fill in the rest. That's usually whey shake and some fruits or cookies or chit. DONE. Wow I just spent 15min throughout the day on it.

BBing taught me a lot. Before that I never could put effort on a task for long periods of time. I'd get bored and stop doing it. BBing is slow steady process. You have to have the discipline to keep working out, eating properly and sacrificing some stuff for it. It teaches you mental strength. Cmon how many times esp on a cut you already filled your macros for the day but you wanted some sweets sooooo much, or these crisps. Or how about doing **** like squats and feeling like you can't do another one, but still pushing thru and getting extra 1-2 reps. This sort of mental strength carries over to other parts of your life.

I also love when people comment on my strength/physique even tho I'm not strong/swole by bbing standards. They will say, wow you lifted that so easily or couple of my female friends commenting about my firm ass. lol
**** like that is really encouraging. I prefer to lift rather than say sit a the bar or fap to porns.
I'm also quite agressive, with short fuse. If something pisses me off I lift so that I can release all that. In the past I'd punch fuking walls (not people who pissed me off lol)to release my energy and busted my knuckles few times.

If you are a pathetic ******* to start with you prob not change even if you get swole. Also lol @ paying attention what other people are doing, just lift and mind ur own business. lolz
    This man...take my reps plox

I said bodybuilding, not lifting 3 times a week like many of u retards keep saying

Bodybuilding to ME means doing everything as optimal as possible, gym 8 hours a week, counting macros, bulking/cutting cycles ect. That's why I said I wish I never started BODYBUILDING. Being healthy and just lifting is a completely different thing

I gym 4 days one week, 5 days the next on a rotating split, I don't count my macros, i lean bulk, i'm in the gym an hour per session tops and that's optimal.

most optimal natural body building routines only require you to work out 3 days a week..

you don't even know what you're talking about anymore..

Well then stop doing this ****gy chit and be a powerlifter, compete and actually get something out of lifting. I know all you aesthetic 170lb soaking wet *******s are downright intimidated when a 260lb Powerlifter comes into your gym and deadlifts 700lbs.

Powerlift. You get really strong and big (see my avi). Also, you get to eat everything all the time. And grow a beard.

If the lifestyle doesn't ADD something to your life then you're doing it wrong. If you do it right, you will look better, feel better, be healthier, be more confident, better social circle, better respect, more self respect, discipline, self worth, more sluts,

no less of anything. If you are anal about 8 meals a day, or feel incredibly guilty if you eat one bar of chocolate then you got problems bro.

Let's see a pic of what 8 hours/week has gotten you brah.

its a lifestyle if your not happy doing it than dont. I enjoy seeing my body change through dieting and working out. I agree that people around you think its obsessive but its not THAT bad.

You can get a decent physique doing martial arts a couple of days a week...

Or doing some running and calisthenics....

Lifting and bodybuilding isn't the only way.

some truth to it but everyone's gotta do what they gotta do.
Think you of the fact that a deaf person cannot hear. Then what deafness may we not all possess? ~ Dune

We need a new ideology with the core values of reason, honesty, science and secular progress over the older traditions of religion, superstition and dogmatic faith that have long defined humanity. We will never be free to progress and advance until the last stone from the last church is cast down onto the last priest. And every equivalent.

I'm glad I'm conscious of my body image actually. I get depressed when I don't lift. If I miss 2 consecutive days without lifting I go down a spiral path of depression that takes me about a week and half to get out of.
