No wonder your posts have been utterly cynical and misanthropic lately.

When I was in elementary school I had to start reading the 'girl books' during reading time because I finished all of the 'boy books' probably halfway through the year.
In middle school I got in trouble for reading too much. Math? Who wants to pay attention to math. I'd rather just read this book that's in my desk.
Way to incentive, public schools.

Then, in high school, by happenstance, you stumbled upon a dusty, but glowing tome labeled "Atlas Shrugged" in a dark corner of the library. It's aura pervaded your nostrils with the intensity of hemorrhoids. You opened the cover. That's when everything changed, Farley1324. That's when everything changed.

You won't miss much. All you really need to follow is a 16h fast/8h feeding schedule. The principle is appetite suppression through entrainment of leptin and grehlin hormones. All the other stuff -- fasted training on BCAAs, off-day cal level cycling, etc... don't account for much, maybe 5% of effect. "Skip breakfast" = leangains/IF.

That about sums it up, really.
I have been following IF for a while now, mainly because the time crunch I face in the morning makes skipping breakfast easy. In the past, a cutback or layoff in training always lead to an increase in weight. But through IF, I have maintained my weight easily during both hot and cold streaks of training. Here Lies the Rant

Not really.
Most self-help books are the illustrations of people who are 100 steps ahead in life marketed to those who are 100 steps behind.
With no concrete instructions on how to achieve the former's desired results, because no two people or situation is the same.
It's nice to read about Cicero's political conquests in the Roman Empire circa 75 BC and try to relate it some abstract concept of power.
But when you're instructed to apply that, like some sort of recipe, to your early 20s unemployed sap life (example, not you) you just end up looking/sounding like a douchebag.

I skimmed through How to Win Friends... before.
Cliffs:
- Use common sense when interacting with people
- Don't be a dick

Doesn't it bother you, even insult your intelligence, that you bought and had to read 300 pages of something to come to that obvious conclusion?
It's a good book to showcase historical examples of the use of "power."
I just think putting the book under the self-help umbrella is a dumb.
