when you use slow and controlled form the whole time and cant get another one in and stopping rather then starting to cheat and push 2 more out with bad form....so youre not really going to full failure when you use good form it only happens when you start to yank the weight around, so technically it would be ok to go to failure as long as you are keeping good form. thoughts?

perfect form going to failure vs bad form to failure

Personally, I only like to do what I know I can do without arching my back or cheating. It's better to miss a couple reps than injure yourself. Basically, maintain good form throughout. When I would go to failure with bad form I actually strained my hamstring and somehow got my back out of alignment. The time to recover is not worth the extra rep(s).

You being serious?
Bench press- Retain natural back arch to keep stability. Pull in shoulder blades and tuck in elbows to save elbows and rotator cuffs.
Deadlifts- Lol, if you don't retain your spine's natural arch here, then you're definitely headed to snap city.
Squat- see: deadlift.My log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=154949233

Some people do arch their back unnaturally because of a weak core or lack of knowledge. I'm sure he knew that already even though its pretty basic, but this is a forum to help and encourage people. Instead of asking whether or not that was something he did I just included that portion. I'm not saying your reply to mine wasn't justified, I'm just better explaining what I meant.

I've seen his videos. He's legit.
Well let's see. This is a sanctioned meet. She got 3 white lights. You mad because a 13 year old benches more than you? Very insecure aren't you.

Op is right i found the hard way, i did ss for 2 months went from 40kg to 120 with squat bad form, cheating and semi good mornings. Results: good for ego but bad for joints and lower back. I'm squatting 100kg right now and still leaning forward when reaching near failure. Damn hate them squats.
