So i just got my macros figured out yesterday and i just left for a two day vacation. Ive been on a strict diet for months and havent cheated once or drank any alcohol either. So im nervous about eating bad and drinking just thought i would ask what you guys thought of a two day drink and eat whatever for two days and if it would hurt my progress. Im starting my macros on wed along with my new workout

IMO if you're not training for a competition or certain date, dont worry about it.
you decided to go on a short 2 day vacation, enjoy yourself OP. just get right back to your cutting diet when you get back
but if youre really worried about it, just track everything and eat at maintenance like mentioned above, then continue cutting when you get back.Iron & Ice Cream.
Stop Bitchin.
Shred.

no way i would eat 10-15k cals i was just concerned i guess bc i have been eating such a low amount of cals the last past week and a half.. My metabolism luckily is still good after surviving on such low cals and high exercise. Glad I found out about macros im ready to hit the ground running tomorrow. Im going to test it out today my maintenance is 2400 155pro 75fat and on carbs im going to test out today im shooting for 150g so if i hit that I have about 500cals to play with most likely somemore carbs maybe protein just going to see how my body reacts.
This morning egg white spinach omelette with mixed berries and thats it until tonight when I tackle the texas best 16 oz dry aged ribeye at bohanans here in san antonio

One of your biggest problems is classifying food as good and bad. You need to drop that mentality.... If you feel guilty for eating a burger and not a steak, that just makes zero sense to me. Foods contain macros, some contain micros, etc.. It's not like drinking a vodka, and eating a burger and fries is going to destroy anything you have done... nor is your body going to know the name of the food you put into it.
Learning something new here every single day... and I'm still not sure if I understand : /

So, I have a general question that is related to this in a way. Say I am on a diet, well call it diet X. My diet X's calories are at an appropriate level ( I am trying to gain weight, so roughly 15-20% above maintenance), I am meeting my macro requirements, and I am keeping an eye on sugar/cholesterol/saturated fats. Would I be accurate in saying that it doesn't matter what diet X contains, so long as the above conditions hold true?
EDIT: The thread shifted to what constitutes cheating, which is bordering on diet content. So I don't feel I am hijacking the thread.

why are you worried about dietary cholesterol, sugar and saturated fats? dietary cholesterol has no effect on serum cholesterol. Saturated fats are not "bad" for you. other carb sources like pasta and brown rice end up as glucose (sugar) in the long run. the only thing to limit is fructose, and that's just based off a study done on SEDENTARY people consuming more than 50g of fructose alone every day for an extended amount of time.
Stick to mostly whole foods (foods w/ high micronutrient content) but allow yourself some calories per day for thinks you will start to crave if you completely removed them from your diet.
hit your macros. eat a few vegetables and fruits per day. drink enough water. eat around 35g fiber a day.
