Hi Everyone
Hoping you guys may have some insight. I have been trying for a few months to lower my weight. Although my muscle weight has gone down, I have been unable to lower my water weight and as a result feel bloated all the time. I am on a 1400 cal - 6 meal plan with high protein and low carb contents. I also drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and no soda. juice or anything else. I am baffled as to why I have not been able to lower the water weight. Can anyone suggest? provide some guidance? Thanks!

A bmi is a simple height and weight calculation and doesn't have anything to do with body composition. So I am assuming you mean bia (bioelectric impedence analysis), like the electronic hand-helds or the scales. They are horribly innaccurate, you shouldn't care about what they say. Moreover, the previous poster is correct in that you shouldn't concern yourself with water weight. After maybe an initial drop right when you start dieting (water loss from inside the muscles due to lower glycogen), I would expect body water to remain the same.
