I didn't say he was trying to be like Daft Punk. But the defense seems to be that because this was so far-out he should be commended, no matter how poor it may have been. It's a rubbish argument. I also don't claim to be an authority on what artists should or shouldn't do, but I don't want to hear that it was a good move because he was trying something 'new'. ****ting himself live on stage would've been new, but I don't think he should be commended for giving it a go.

I don't think the way it played out was what he was expecting from the set, the way I saw it was him trying to bring something slightly different (a live band, an unconventional genre, not exactly him pulling down his pants and ****ting on the stage) and it not really coming off the way he wanted it to. I respect him for trying to mix it up, if he had chosen better singers or a better style of music for the live part it probably would've gone down far better, but you can't foresee a lot of that until it actually happens on the night and he'll learn from his mistakes and hopefully get something from it. His intentions were decent and I respect that he's taking a few risks for the music instead of just playing the same **** everyone else does since it's the safe option.

Fair enough. I still disagree with you but I can see why somebody would think that.

In reference to your last sentence, I'd say Avicii is a symptom, even partly a cause of that situation rather than a cure, but fair enough.
