Dear Equipment Forum -
It strikes me that there's a need to establish a network among the members that frequent the forum to facilitate equipment sales and trades, while avoiding shipping costs. If people are interested and are willing to transport equipment, you can post in this thread when and to where you're traveling.

I don't think he's trying to sell anything.
I don't know how practical the idea will be, but I'm not sure what the big deal would be. If someone in Cleveland had been traveling to Columbus a few months ago....it sure would've been nice to have them grab the bumpers I bought and save me a whole bunch of time.
A few years ago I got a line a bunch of commercial power racks and floated the sale out to the members. Animal wanted one, so I picked it up for him....I didn't make anything on it, just got him a good deal. Now....I call him a friend.
Just because you're facilitating something doesn't mean its a classified section. I have no idea what the mods will do here, but I don't believe JB's intentions were anywhere close to malicious.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

not selling anything. picking up some equipment for a fellow EF member who's in the south. I was just thinking it'd be nice to know if someone might be traveling sometime in that direction, I could hand it off to them, instead of the fellow driving 6 hours in each direction. I had some bumpers that I got from Michigan that took some serious planning to get them here to Ohio - would've been nice if someone who was coming down here anyway could have stopped by and picked up for me. seems like the folks here are generally friendly and trustworthy, so it was just an idea. the thread will die I'm sure if nobody is interested.

This is a good idea, I am on a woodworking site and we have what's called a pony express, which works exactly like this by helping other members transport items. Heck it's been done here before, just a little more informally. I'm already on spread with you Jack, but I owe you reps.

I am in. We do this informally now.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I hate the idea of another stickie... but if this starts to take off I think it's the way to go. ndmike99's thread went by the wayside. BTW, repped you too Mike.

Speaking of which, if anyone wants to smuggle an EliteFTS Collegiate rack up to British Columbia I'll gladly send you on your way with some real beer and Maple Syrup! I'm fairly close to the borders of western Montana, Idaho, and eastern Washington... Not a great Craigslist market sadly...
