I would like to remind everyone that we are over halfway through this rant with no thread name changes as of yet.

-Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer.
In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.'
The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?'
She again replied, 'Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a
youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.'
The defense attorney nearly died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,
'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.'

It can be done, and it's there for situations where one steps down and there is a review of their banning history but generally mods will respect the original ban.
Anyway my advice is pretty straightforward – don't do something stupid to get banned in the first place. Treat them like a cop on the street or your boss at work. Respect the rules and don't piss them off. Aside from maybe 4-5 years ago when a couple of mods were a bit trigger happy, the majority of bans here could have easily been avoided. Bill's one annoys me the most. He didn't put a foot wrong and then one day takes exception to a few rule changes by a mod who'd already made it clear it wasn't up for discussion, and the rest is history.
I mean it's no different to seeing a cop pull alongside you at the lights and then doing something stupid instead of looking straight ahead.

Finally finished Mass Effect.
Outstanding. Most engaged fun I've had with an RPG since FF8.
I was planning to play and finish Fallout before moving onto ME2, but now I'm going straight into the latter.
This has been a role playing report.

Okay...I'm like 15 minutes into ME2 and it's already blowing my mind.
The production is upped by like a thousand percent.
They have Yvonne Strahovski and MARTIN SHEEN in the game.
Are you f'ing kidding me? Martin Sheen?! Insanity.
I'm so freaking stoked.

The good thing about being such a late, lame, and intermittent gamer is that you get to play these awesome titles in their fully patched forms back-to-back with no interruption.

I'd say you're in the minority about Vista. I don't mean it in a bad light.
Most IT folks and other end users hated Vista. It was based on a beta code-base. It was a rush job. Microsoft would have been best to wait until 7 was released. When I ran it, I had driver issues. The nVidia sound drivers would give me blue screens too often (I had to resort to RealTek's AC97 codec drivers for stability).
