Past few weeks have been pretty messy training wise. I was out on a vacation trip for a week and came back with a nagging knee pain. Diet was a mess since kitchen was under renovation. Now that everything is settled, I decided it's time for a fresh start in training.
My choice to go with Texas Method is due to the fact that I really like the way volume and intensity are regulated as well as the way it progresses. A mistake I made in the past is to do too much at the same time so my new philosophy is to get the most out of the least.
Today is Day 1
Squat: Volume Day
295 x 5
295 x 5
295 x 5
Decided to start low. Went for 3x5 as opposed to 5x5. Next week I will raise it to 5x5 but with the same weight. The weight I chose is based on 80% of my 5RM which was at 365. Again, I'm starting low and trying to milk as much as possible
Stiff-Legged Deadlifts: Assistance 1
275 x 5
275 x 5
275 x 5
Decline Sit-ups: Assistance 2
bw x 20
+5 x 10
+10 x 5
+15 x 5
+20 x 5
