got the following for 140. i had sold my dip bars temporarily (with the intention of buying them new again later on because i could do dips with the portable pullup bar i have)
but i found this body solid one for 50. he wanted 50 for the dip bars, 50 for the urethane hampton dumbbells and 60 for the body solid folding 125 bench. he was willing to do 140 for it all. going to try and resell the dumbbells for 100. should be able too, they are 350 new.
for some reason the 125 feels more slightly sturdier than the more expensive version skinnysquats has. no idea why. i think the padding on skinny's may have been better thoughLast edited by matrix563; 01-09-2014 at 01:31 AM.

Another sweet CL find, matrix, nice work!
I'm not the CL wiz that you are, but here's what I've picked up lately (only new non-CL stuff for me though ).
Adidas Power Perfect 2.0s and Powerlift 1.0s, and Stamina Rotating Pullup Handles. I've wanted the pullup handles ever since Jetigen posted one of his excellent reviews about them (and they were on sale, on top of being inexpensive to begin with). And some might think that 2 pairs of lifting shoes are unnecessary, let me just say that I'm a sucker for a deal and most importantly, this is the Equipment Forum. So nuff said, right ? A little over $100 for both pairs was way too sweet of a deal for me to pass up, especially after I was considering dropping $200 for Adipowers or Romaleos. As of now, I'll be using the PP2s for squatting and the Powerlifts for most everything else. Not sure about deadlift, I haven't had a chance to test use either shoe while deadlifting yet - I know the standard view is that heeled shoes are a bad idea for deadlifting.

So I just picked up a Sports Art commercial FID bench for NZ $250 yesterday:
I am really happy with it. Commercial benches pretty much never come up on the used market in NZ, so I swooped on this one.
When I first saw the photos of this bench I did think the pad design was a little weird for my liking. I'm still not a fan of it aesthetically, but it's actually not so noticeable when using the bench.
I've noticed the design has been updated though:
http://www.sportsartamerica.com/saf/...h/benches.asp#
If it does start to bother me I will consider having simpler pads made, the originals have a couple of small rips anyway.
It is the perfect height, width and pad firmness - these are all minor gripes I have with the Ironmaster bench.
It is heavy. I would say at least 50kgs (110lbs). I've heard a few people mention that the difference between a commercial and home use bench is night and day. Well, they are right. I still think my Ironmaster bench is solid but the Sports Art bench is a tank.
My favorite feature is the gas assisted incline adjustment. You can quite easily adjust the bench angle while you are sitting on it:
Pad gap is approximately 2" - I tend to lay fully on the backrest when flat benching, so I don't really care.
My negatives on the bench:
- it doesn't go full 90' for military presses (but close enough for me)
- tiny bit of play in the backrest adjustment mechanism (I'm being picky here)
- weird pad design (I can live with it)
Here is a comparison of the Sports Art bench with my Ironmaster bench:

Yesterday I was just searching through CL with no need to buy anything..... But I came across what I thought was a nice little deal that had some flip potential.
For $40 I got.....
A Cybex 5490 Weight / Bar Tree
2 Olympic dumbbell handles
1 Olympic curl bar
Two 25 pound weights
Six 10 pound weights
Two 5 pound weights
And a Bollinger flat bench
I know the the stuff is a little rusty but I have a friend that can sandblast and powder coat it all for like $20.
I already sold the two 5 pound weights and two of the 10 pound weights for $20 a hour after I bought it. With the rest of it I am going to clean it up and keep the weight tree for myself. I plan on throwing an old Parabody weight tree I have in with it and try to get a $100 for it..... Not to bad I thought..... I think can end up $80 ahead and get a pretty nice weight tree out of the deal!!!!

Nothing too get overly excited about, but very happy to fill a missing aspect of my home workout program on the cheap! Saw I had some rewards points, looked at what I'm currently lacking, and picked up the Stamina X 45 degree hyper for $52 on Amazon because it seemed to have respectable reviews. I was surprised at how decent the hyper was for the price, I posted a review on Amazon because I felt it deserved more. I have this sneaky suspicion that the sale price of $79.99 will easily become $99 quickly given the favorable reviews. Once enough people figure out its a REALLY decent space saving/budget hyper, I was pleasantly surprised.
Edit: FYI, for those considering one in the future I do Hypers holding a 45lb plate, and this thing didn't bat an eye when I tested it out. No movement whatsoever!Last edited by urbanlifter; 01-11-2014 at 06:47 PM.

Not the best pic, but here you go. And yeah, they were in pretty good condition. They were shipped in a crate and the fit was fairly snug. Inside the box, the kettlebells themselves were wrapped in plastic as well as enclosed in a fitted Styrofoam case.
Nope, I'm from RI. Just grew up an (obviously) huge Mario Lemieux fan.

Glute ham raise.
Basically finished my home brew glute ham raise. Need to upholster the ankle rests, which is going to be pipe insulation and duct tape. I also need to reinforce the hip pad area. The cardboard tube is a bit flimsy. The main body is from an old power rack.

Ivanko Plates
It pays to check the local CL where ever you may be. I bought these Ivanko plates, York handles and unknown oly. collars while on vacation in Florida.

Finally saved enough for a decent set of DB's and two months of waiting on CL (market here is DRY), picked these up.
Guy gave a pair of these plates, anyone know what brand these are?

Hoffman int'l. We have written much on these in the vintage weights thread.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Yeah, we escaped the minus zero temperatures in WV, it was all 50 -80 degrees while. Yes, I carried them on, ( in the back seat of our Honda Accord).
These were on the Orlando CL, he had some 45lb. bumpers made like the old York bumpers, but he wanted too much for my tight pockets. If they had been York's I would have got them. Now OK for Sig line to be a novel

Picked up an EFS Swiss Cable Attachment on ebay. $65 less than EFS. No use, so I take that as a win.
