hey, i also go dunking on 8 ft just for fun, with me and my older brother. (he's 17, 5'8 and windmilling) i recently decided to practise my vertical just like he does (hes at ~40' right now) anyway i was wondering if anyone could rate my vertical. i am currently 12 years old, 5'3 and have a 27' vertical. i got this without training or anything, however i will start training explosiveness, for the increased vertical. and can people leave some good exercises for explosiveness?
thanks

Why not just ask your brother for tips? He seems to be doing it right, and... he lives with you

You're probably already good on the whole plyometric thing. If I had to guess I'd say you can improve your strength easiest for big boosts in vertical. What are you squatting?

27 is just average for your weight body type as your very lean. I'm at 19% bf and mine is also 27" which is good for my body type to go along with my 6'6" frame and nearly 7 foot wingspan and 9 foot+ standing reach = I can touch nearly 11'5".
With your body type and the right training I'm sure you can hit 40". I know a lot of short guys that can grab a 10 foot rim. Just don't give up.

IMO snatches are easier at a beginner level than C&J. but in regards to olympic lifting and vertical. yes oly lifting builds explosive power yes oly lifters have insane vertical but adding weight to your lifts doesnt mean you increase you vertical. stick to squats high pulls and plyo
sub to my youtube for more videos of me lifting heavy things : www.youtube.com/user/civilizedmurderer
best lifts(kg):
back squat 250, front 200
clean 179 pw clean 165
snatch 140 pw snatch 122.5
c&J 179 pw c&j 160
push press 155 strict press 120
bench 175
best comp total 316
