I have to pay for license renewals every year for things like road upkeep, yet you don't pay anything. Until bike riders start paying taxes and fees, they shouldn't be allowed on the roads.

I have no problem with bicyclists sharing the road, so long as they obey the rules of the road. That means, among other things:
1. Don't cut diagonally across intersections.
2. Don't come up from behind me and pass on the right when I'm making a right turn. This goes double if you slide over into the crosswalk. You're a vehicle or a pedestrian, NOT BOTH.
3. I know you're technically allowed to ride side-by-side, but if the road is busy, get your ass into a single file line so cars can get around you.
And finally, the one that REALLY rustles my jimmies, because I've almost hit someone twice this week already:
4. STOP AT FUKING STOP SIGNS!Fat, but working on it.
Again.
"Do you think the men who built all this had it easy?!" "Hard men! Doing hard sh*t!" "And that gives me a hard on! But, uh, not in a gay way or anything."

Only children ride on sidewalks kiddo. Different cities do have different laws on riding bikes. I have a road bike and ride it on the road. It feels good for me to ride and put work into a vehicle that weights 7Kg to move my 73Kg body. We are on a fitness forum that puts emphasis on working out right? I do forget that you sit in a 2000Kg vehicle, doing minimal work to get yourself to the gym where you lift miniscule weight and compensate by cycling to build mass.

i'd rather deal with them in their bike lane while driving than having them flying down the sidewalk when i am walking somewhere. in many cities it is illegal to ride on the sidewalk. cops give them tickets for riding on the sidewalks here and many other places. i think it is making them risk their own safety riding in the bike lane as opposed to risking another person's safety by riding on the sidewalks. op you even think any of your post through you did you just get pissed by having to go around a guy on a bike today?

This. Most sidewalks aren't in good enough condition to ride on in a lot of places.
I agree. Except bikers don't have to stop IMO, they should slow down. Stopping on a bike and having to start again sucks. I usually just slow down and run with another car going across so it's a no harm situation.
Bikers should stay as close to the right as they can and follow the rules of the road. Unless you can duck into the sidewalk and pretend to be a pedestrian because...well no harm no foul.San Francisco Giants & 49ers; Saint Louis Cardinals & Blues
