Were they trying to rob the business or all of the people in it too? If they weren't trying to rob the customers then this vigilante just put everybody's life at risk for no good reason, especially considering how poorly he seems to shoot.
edit: I see now that his aim was better than I thought. He hit them both.Last edited by IANfinity; 07-17-2012 at 03:53 PM.

RESPECT to this man for shooting this well under this stressful of a situation, and saving innocent lives. Deserves a medal or something. Real life hero."Revenge is an act of passion; vengeance of justice. Injuries are revenged; crimes are avenged" - Samuel Johnson

In which case would everybody be more in danger. 1.) Robbers come in and rob store. No shots are fired, just like in 99% of armed robberies (making this statistic up). 2.)Robbers come in intending to rob store. Guy opens fire on them.
Obviously there is more danger when shots are fired, and the old guy wasn't in any presumable danger himself, so that's not self defense.
Unless they were robbing the customers in there. That I don't know, but that changes a lot. In that case he would be rightfully defending his possessions.
Not a liberal. I'm all for concealed carry.
