I got them in a variety pack of blades I bought off of Amazon. I usually get crap shaves from them and I've been using them once then throwing them out just to get rid of them. For some reason I got a great shave with one of them the other day. Didn't change anything else in my routine at all. mindblown.

    hey guys

looking to buy a more aggressive safety razor... Don't want to spend more than $60.
Was looking at the Muhle R41 open comb. Anything else? I am currently using the Parker 99R, and it is too mild and I am not getting as close of a shave as I could. The safety bar is really close to the blade. Thanks brahs

    Note: Gillette Adjustables
    - Slim and Fat Boy range from .022 @ 1 to .045 @ 9; Fat Boy (195) weighs 79 gm, Slim Adjustable weighs 70
    - the Black handle Adjustable ranges from .017 @ 1 to .041 @ 9 or 1 setting smaller than the Slim or Fat Boy
    - Merkur Slant has a slightly variable blade gap, and is difficult to measure; it weighs 76 gm.

Subjective differences in ranking were limited to +/- .001 measurements
so differences of .001 - .003 can be considered functional equivalent.
Wow greatly appreciated Alex! I will do my research and make a purchase in the next few days. It is more aggressive as you go down the list correct? The larger gap means more aggressive? How do you feel about slants? Thank you very much! Reps for life for all my wet shave misc brahs

So i was lurking badger & blade and found info on polishing blades. Im going to try my hand at restoring some of the antique straights ive got. Ill start with the polishing and attempt to get that down before i go any further. I already bought the exact polishing compounds recommended. Ill attempt honing again with my Norton 4k/8k combo, but i think I'm going to need a finishing stone to get that extra fine edge.

awwwww ya! Had to hit the $80 mark for free shipping. Playing around with more soaps and creams. My acne meds have helped so much with my oily skin and occasional blemish. brb confidence > 9000

Thanks again Alex and MT for the input on a more aggressive saftey razor. Ended up pulling the trigger on the 37c slant.

I ordered a bag of chromium powder to help polish and hone my blades. It's the last step in polishing so I hope I can get it as shiny as the guy in the tutorial I found. Looks simple enough anyway

I also bought a Dremel finally. I'm going to start polishing today and see what happens. I have a couple old straights that could use some work and are unable to be polished by normal liquid methods.
