Off today. Today was my birthday and it was a nice one. I took a small 8 point buck this morning with my bow, usually would pass on one this size, but this season has been tough so far and I needed to put some protien in the freezer

Today's food I wieghed 168.2 this morning, so the diet is back on track. I think this makes week 13 and I am down 12 or 13 pounds so far.
    Happy Birthday Eric!
That buck looks sort of cute, although I do like Venison. My vegetarian daughter would disown me if I brought that home
And you've been doing great on your cut and at a perfect rate: 1lb per week and you should be able to keep all of your mass. Hell.....you've been getting stronger so you've probably kept gaining muscle on this cut!

    Great work on the hunting/diet/lifting!

Nice catch! Rifle or bow? Hunting is something I've never done, but I reckon if I did, I'd want to use a bow. Supposedly there's a new kind of bow that once drawn no longer requires effort to keep it drawn, so you can use an 80lb draw super easy. My son's in scouts and I love when he does archery because he'll let me shoot a couple, albeit with a kid's bow.

Thanks Andrew. The venison is pretty awesome, zero carbs, no fat and lots of protien without any hormones, or other human induced chemicals. I weighed 166 this morning, likely from all the dragging yesterday, the buck was around 1.5 miles from the truck and over three very tall ridges. So I intend to make use of the quick loss by eating some cake today

Thanks Dru. I took him with a bow, I haven't used a gun in a long time for deer hunting. I use a 72 lb. draw weight with very little let-off so holding it at full draw for more than a few seconds really starts to burn down my back.

Today was Chest and Triceps and here it is.

    BB benchpress
    95x12
    115x10
    135x10
185x8 (was feeling very strong on these, touched chest every rep slow and controlled)
205x5 (not feeling so strong on these video below)
    185x8
    185x6

    Incline Benchpress
    135x10
    145x10
    155x8
    155x8
    155x8 (video below)

    Incline Flyes
    30'sx12
    35'sx12
    35'sx10

    Close Grip Benchpress
    115x10
    125x10
    135x10

    V-bar Tricep pressdowns
    50x15
    60x12
    70x10

That was it for today. Got a good nights sleep last night and rested a bit today, felt really strong on the presses so I upped the weight from 185 to 205. I also upped the inclines which feels good since I weighed 166 this morning which is 14/15 pounds down so far on the cut. The 205 set was pretty painful on my left shoulder though and it shows in the video. I also baked myself a day late birthday cake today, so the weight may be up a little tomorrow. Today's food I just went back and looked to be sure, tomorrow will make 12 weeks since I started the cut, and even though I have flip flopped a time or two on it I have lost more than 1 pound per week. If the weight keeps dropping at that rate I will adjust the calories up a little to try and keep it at 1 pound per week.

Nice benching Eric! Yeah that shoulder looks like it's protesting some, still nice repping 205 though. I like that step you have for your feet, did you just make a small box with a cutout part to fit with the bench leg? I need to do something like that, have been stacking up some mats so my feet have somewhere to go lol, kind of a hassle.

Nice job on the benching Eric ---- the inclines looked really strong and comfortable for you. The 205s on the flat looked good but I could see the left arm just starting to fail on the last two reps. You actually have your work cut out on the benching because you look to have a big wingspan and you go through a full ROM so that bar has to cover a lot of distance
You're doing really well to bump the lifts so much on the cut......14lbs down is a big drop
Great work --- I'm sure you enjoyed the cake after dragging that carcase for 1.5 miles. It beats pushing a sled around

Great inclines. Have you toyed with the incline angle at all? Sometimes I do 30, sometimes 45. Sorta depends. 45 feels like it hits around the collar bone a tad more which is where I have very little mass

Thanks Hammie. I just cut some 2x4's to fit around the base and then cut a piece of OSB to fit over them and screwed it to them. All I have to do is slide it past the leg and drop it into place and it is secure. It is a little too high, but my bench has that horseshoe shaped bottom that is in the way of my feet.

Thanks Andrew. Still holding 166.8 this morning, which is good because I had another piece of cake before bed that I didn't log . I think the bench would improve if I could use a wider grip, but any wider and the shoulder just can't take it.

Thanks cmoore. No superman for sure, but increasing the weights on a deficit feels good even if the weight is still sub-standard.

Thanks Dru. Yes, I will swap the incline around here and there. I usually do them one notch lower than in this video, but want to work my upper chest as much as possible. At the angle in the video I feel it most like you stated, just under the collar bone. My shoulders are both really stiff this morning and I feel like I pushed it to the limit yesterday, I don't think I left anything on the table when I was finished.

Today was Deadlift/Squat day and here it is.

    315x8
    345x6
    375x5
405x2.5 (may have pulled right hamstring on 3rd rep)

That was it for today. I think I pulled my right hamstring on the 405 set, it is cramping pretty badly. I will ice it down and hope for the best though. Obviously, no squatting was done after this. I was feeling really strong today and had hoped for 4 reps on the 405 and possibly 2 reps at 435, but it didn't happen. Today's food

I'm so jealous of your deads Eric ---- 375 x 5 is great work and getting 2.5 reps on the 405 is impressive, even if you did want to rep 435 (I assume the .5 was a fail to lock out after the knees)

That was it for today, I am done for sure, nothing left after this session. My Hamstring is much better today, I downed 800 mg's of ibuprofin last night and wrapped a towel around it stuffed with icepacks overnight. I was really stiff this morning, but after a hot as I could take it shower and some moving around it has eased off a good bit. I felt really good again tonight though and hit my back with all it could handle, Biceps too.
    Today's food

I normally use a wider grip on these, but wanted to mix it up a little and went narrower today.

I also changed the grip on these, I normally use the V-grip handle and pull to my waist, but wanted to try the straight bar and pull more towards my chest today, I will swap these back and forth for a while.

I haven't been doing these as regular as I need to lately.

Thanks Andrew. It wasn't that cold in the basement, 33* outside and about 60* inside. I just wanted to keep the muscles warmed up to aviod anymore cramping. A little sweating shouldn't hurt the cut efforts either.

That was it for today. Hoping that adding in some dumbell presses mid week will help to strengthen my BB presses. I may add a little to this session in the following weeks depending on how it affects my monday bench session. I weighed 166 even this morning and the "demons" are starting to manifest themselves. I have been feeling tiny for the past few days, and feel like I have lost all of the minute gains that I have worked for for the past year. I know it is in my head, but they can be pretty convincing either way. Today's food

^^^^^ I know where you are coming from Eric.......I got down to 158 last year (forcibly because it was after my 4th shoulder op and I just felt sick and went off my food) and I felt tiny! I got more comments on my physique then than at any time before or since, but it plays terribly on the mind when you've been bulking and getting stronger.
Strong DB work though --- that's nice volume on the flat and incline benching and the 80s and 70s are a heavy weight

My internet crashed yesterday. I did lift yesterday and headed down to lift today as well. I will update tomorrow once my computer is working again.

What an awesome session Eric! Had to bump this

Lots of high volume work too.

hehe had a giggle at cmoore chucking a poop He is right you know.
