I picked up half my starters from the FA pool, just picked up Garza last week I think he will improve and not be a ton worse than Beachy. People in this league cut the cord on SPs after 1 bad start. I don't think my staff is great but I think with my batting it is good enough. I am in first and my hitters include:

Napoli at C, Joey Votto at 1B, Robinson Cano 2B, Miggy Cabrera 3B, my main liability is Gordon at SS. OF now has McCutchen, Nelson Cruz, (Crisp/Maybin OF3). UTIL is Mark Teixeria, and last spot is now Goldschmidt who has 5 HR past 2 weeks or so picked him up off wire. 12 team league.

What's the point of owning Crisp?

He has a .165/.222/.183 triple slash for the season and is 4/34 over his last 10 games.

My team lacks speed. And I've invested a lot in the hitting so I wanted any speed I can get. With Gordon, McCutchen, Maybin and Crisp there might be enough to compete there in SBs. I could replace Crisp with someone off the waiver wire like Campana and play him when the Cubs play righties what do you think of that? I'm planning on adding Bauer from AZ to take Beachys spot in my rotation and will probably take a flier on Bud Norris as last start really blew up his ratios which were solid before that. here is a link to my team, not sure if you guys can see the pending deal for McCutchen though... http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/188548/2

If your looking for cheap steals then I would pick up Campana. They sat him for 4-5 games to get more power into the lineup but he has started the last 3 games all in the leadoff spot and responded with a few hits and steals. He also has more steals in the last 10 games (4-5 of those games he didn't start) than Crisp has had on the whole year.

yeah I think I will snag Campana drop Crisp. I can then play matchups with Campana and Maybin I'll play Campana against ALL righties assuming he's in the lineup. Then when hes out of the lineup ill go Maybin. That should give me enough speed with McCutchen and Gordon to be decent at steals. Thank you for the advice reps for ya.

Should I drop Kendrick for Beckham? Kendrick hasn't done **** all year, and while the Angels have been playing better lately, I don't know if its worth sticking with him.

My gut tells me to go with Beckham. He always projected as a stud its just taken him a while, he was rushed at the beginning of his career. He has a good shot at being better the rest of the way, and at worst I don't think he'll be much worse than Kendrick assuming Kendrick rebounds and Beckham regressed.

I'd take Gordon over Kendrick. Kendrick's strikeout and walk rate have gone the wrong way this season. Beckham is showing signs of coming together.

Edit: I've changed my mind. I had a chance to look at some more advanced stats and Beckham has been hitting more ground balls so far. His BABIP is low but his Flyball/Homerun is high and with that ground-ball rate expect the homerun's to come down. Of course more hits could be expected but between him and Kendrick, Kendrick is the safer bet. Gordon has that potential but he has been hit in the low .200's for the last couple years and his stats show no sign of him breaking out just a little hot streak. Simply put, Gordon's floor for production is lower than Kendricks.

Thats a tough one, but I just picked up Beckham two weeks ago after Mark Ellis went down (yes, crappy 2nd basemen in 16 team league). I have been pleasantly surprised and I'm gonna roll with him until he starts playing like crap again. Maybe he has turned it around though.

1) What does that mean, he pitches every 5th day? As if that somehow diminishes his value. In standard leagues there's ERA, WHIP, K'S, AND W'S. That's 4 categories coming from mainly STARTING pitchers. They are just as valuable than any position player.

2) Dunn ain't hitting 120 rbi's. That was hyperbole on my part he's never hit above 106 rbi's in his career, and i doubt he's going for a career year here when he barely hit 160 last year

3) There will be no innings cap on Moore when he's hurling at the end of the year and the Rays are in playoffs contention like they ALWAYS ARE. Moore is known for his slow starts. The guy mowed down the top offense in the league during the playoffs last year TWICE.

He's owned in only 85% of espn leagues? What does that even mean? That 15% of people that play in those leagues are dumb as **** and baseball illiterate?

Moore will be a stud come years end.

SPs are not on the same level, IMO (is that okay?), as hitters - plain and simple. Sure, they contribute to 4 categories, but that doesn't mean they contribute positively to each of them.. One bad/medicore start from Moore can kill you in H2H. Position players b/c they play everyday can be easily overcome. You target and draft Dunn knowing what you need around him to support his lack of average and speed..

I'm a fan of Moore.. but he's not as valuable as you are protraying him to be..

no. sit tight. take away Beckham's last 3 games and you have Kendrick with an even worse average, and rbi/sb total. don't panic b/c of a slow start.

I had an open spot on my roster so I picked up Beckham without having to drop Kendrick. I can't keep playing Kendrick, he has done absolutely nothing up to this point. Ideally I'd trade for a better 2B, but my lineup is pretty damn good for a 12 team league at the moment.

I actually think it's pretty fair. I'm banking on McCann and Upton to make a substantial turnaround, but right now Young and Molina have been the better combo by far.
