working out calories to bulk up, 3 different results?

    hey,

I have been on 3 different sites.

    this one
    muscle and strength
    muscletech.

all include a calculator for working out BMR and Bulking Calories (Im new to this)

my stats are... 5 foot 9 (175.26cm) 163ibs (11stone9ibs) and age 26. Male with no cardio or sports played.

so muscle tech says 2615cals, muscle and strength 3757 cals! and this site was 3130 cals?

anyway... where do I go with this, I realise after reading many articles now I'm gonna have to watch the scales see what is working etc but as a start these results vary drastically!

I also am doing no sports/cardio etc just wanting to bulk up as cleanly as possible.

another thing I've heard is you can work out bar by weightx10 (163ibs in my case by 10 = 1630 and if i add 300 or 500 calls to that to bulk its still less than the others.

lastly I've also heard of the 17xweight for bulking... 163x17= 2771

any advice to put my mind at rest would be great, been bulking previously without a nutrition plan and gained a fair amount of muscle but also a small gut. so looking to bulk as clean as possible.

I've know how to work out protein, carbs and fats by using other equations but they all rely on the starting calorie intake.

Nobody can tell you the exact answer, your only real option is just pick a starting point and just adjust from that after around 2 weeks or so. It won't make much of a difference.

ok, done this, worked it out to between 2800 and 3000 cals give or take a couple of hundred lol for guessing activity etc. it does get quite complicated so I think ill start at the 3100 for the mean time as I'm out of work and sitting about doing no cardio etc.

    i calculated...

3130 cals on training days (Monday to Friday) with weekends off.

    protein 234g
    carbs 391g
    fat 69g

I'm taking whey protein mainly and an all in one protein with creatine plus waxy maze starch for carbs post workout. also taking BCAA daily.

thanks for advice guys, how does this sound anyway? a good start? got to plan the meals yet, gonna hit this hard for 3 months.

Generally the calculation with activity level takes into account a weekly average, however you can eat less then if you want
