I'd do it for 18-24 mos. then either move back here, Cali, or over to Connecticut and commute to the city. Would be fun before having a family

It's definitely broken... feel 99% sure since I did the exact same thing to my finger a few years back playing flag football, did go to the doc, and it looked exactly like that.

Don't worry, I still love you guys even if I'm like the bastard child you won't claim until I (a) routinely squat 300 for reps and (b) weigh > 200 lbs .
