Lol they send those all the time (except its usually emails). It's just pure threat they have to do legally. Plenty people get them and they don't do anything.

i just switched ISPs from one that bans pirate bay to one that doesnt (ireland), and this ISP doesnt report you to anyone so you can download away all you want PS I switched from DSL to cable, and im paying the same price for like 50mbps that i did for 8mbps lulz

Don't seed after you download it. Easy solution.

I'm about to **** you up with the truth, so stay put.
1) Those letters mean nothing. Empty threats.
2) You were using public trackers (pirate****, isocrap, etc). Get on a private tracker and enjoy better speeds + no annoying letters
3) Programs like peerblock don't work. Period.
Not seeding won't protect you at all. Even connecting to the public swarm that is being watched (and not transferring any data) will get you notified onto the list and potentially a letter sent to your ISP.Originally Posted by killerobotninja

OP i got one of these notices aswell via email, was for downloading jersey shore of all things. The agency that watches over all of MTV stuff got my seeding it after it had been downloaded, and notified my ISP.
Stopped torrenting. Now i just used Direct Downloads. as above poster said. fileserve, rapidshare, megaupload. BRB **** ton easier to find what you want, so much **** and super fast downloads and more safer nomsayin.

Would it be possible to use a library's wifi with a laptop to download torrents? A guy I know used a proxy program to override the download limitations fairly easily in one of the networks and just downloaded ****.
