I'm at 170x5 and I bench twice a week and add 5lb each session. So far its working great each session i have added 5lb easily. If I keep doing this is it possible if I get 225x5 in one month? If not what is the most I can do. I do eat a lot so that won't be a problem. I am doing babylover's modified ss and adding my own exercises such as lat pull downs, rows, and such. It's working great. I went from 155x5 to 170x5 in a week and a half, and i calculated if i keep adding 5lb i should be at 225x5 in a month, is this possible? Where and when would i stall and reach a plateau? 5'10 and 160lb. My deadlift went from 275x5 to 355x5 in a month and squat from 185x5 to 215x10 in 2 weeks, am doing parallel and tounching bench and back up.

If you continue at your current rate, you will be adding 10 pound per week, there are 4 weeks in a month. That means that you'll add 40 pounds in a month and be at 210.
If you can keep increasing at this rate, that's great, stick with it. No one here can tell you when or where you will stall, you just have to keep training and be prepared to slow the rate of your progression as you do get closer to that point.
With all that said, a realistic time frame for reaching 225 is probably around 2 months.~Cody

Possible but very unlikely .
Ka0s :In my experience, doing heavy barbell squats, bench presses, deadlifts, military presses, rows, etc. builds no significant muscle mass.
What you need to really get big is a solid routine which focuses on light weights and cable movements to really force blood into those muscles and get that deep burn & powerful contraction

If you meant max as opposed to your 5rm, then I think it's a lot more possible in a month. Just stick with it and see where you get.
When you're a new lifter, almost all of your actual gains and progress come from your brain learning how to better activate your muscles. These are called Central Nervous System (CNS) gains. The progress due to actual increases in muscular strength is minimal in relation. Eventually you will stall because your brain will get good enough at activating your muscles that it can't use that progression to so heavily up the amount of weight you can lift. At that point you will have to fall back on mainly muscular growth to account for strength gains, which is a much slower process. Eating enough will help, but nothing will allow you to progress at your current rate forever.
We can't tell you when you will reach that point though, most likely within the next month or two, but it could be sooner, could be later. Just keep working hard and you'll find out eventually.~Cody

40 lbs in a month is very good, I wouldn't expect 55 (don't set yourself up for failure) but it could happen.
Don't get too used to it though When you're doing 225x5 you probably won't be adding 40 lbs a month anymore.
Can always bench 3x a week btw you could try adding + 5 + 5 + 2.5 rest

Hell yeah brah ..
What the mind conceive the body can achieve !
Good luck"Experiencing this pain in my muscles and aching and going on and on is my challenge. The last three or four reps is what makes the muscles grow. This area of pain divides a champion from someone who is not a champion. That's what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they'll go through the pain no matter what happens."
