A few of my friends said yes, and I read a couple of articles online saying the same thing. Something about it being bad for the digestion and decreases your metabolism? Can anyone confirm this?

It's a little known fact that Watermelon is actually one of the deadliest fruits in all of history specifically for this reason.
That's also why raccoons and fish have such short lifespans.
Ok, joking aside Ahmed. Don't worry about water with food, most food has lots of water in it, and there is no credible information that would suggest it's an actual concern. You can now use all these bad jokes on your friends when they say stuff like that.

only thing I can think of is if you drink in excessively amount, way more than your bodily needs. yea that can be lethal.
IIFYM - Try to get most of your macros from whole foods. They are high in micronutrients and are needed to maintain overall health

Technically aren't you always drinking water with food? I mean wouldn't the main ingredient in any drink be water? Unless you don't drink fluids with food...

Yes never drink water... it will slow your metabolism if even a drop of it mixes with food anywhere in your stomach or intestines and your thyroid hormone production will grind to a halt... then you will have a heart attack and die due to excessive water/fluid build up in your heart and lungs. Water intoxication is very real and kills people... google it. (not srs)
OP did you really just ask this? Normally when people say "there is not such thing as a stupid question" in this case they would be wrong.

i remember seeing a discussion on this board awhile back discussing that fluids can dilute natural enzymes produced in your body that aid in the digestion of certain foods like meat. however i personally have never read any research discussing the subject in detail.
