The simple reason for this is this book
Seriously the fun I would have pausing time, removing peoples clothes and swapping them around, dressing guys in girls clothes, leaving snotty bitches naked in the middle of the dinner cue........ Oh and I would stealth impregnate all the hotties for the lulz... Place people I didn't like on the edge of sheer drops. Stopping time is essentially teleporting if you move from your current position. Also, teleporting requires you to think of the place you want to go, and if someone is pointing a gun at you don't think it will be that easy. With the ability to stop time the only thing you have to focus on is stopping time itself and not a specific place like you would if teleporting was your ability.
Stopping time is the safest route to go.
