They should do this and use an ifbb pro too

Make a movie about "the bodybuilder" something along the same lines as "the wrestler", and cast an ifbb pro or an up and coming amateur to star.

It would be very interesting and a huge hit in the bodybuilding community imo,
showing the hard life and struggles of an up and coming bodybuilder
the juice, contest preps, all the things conducive to becoming a top contender
    I'd fukn watch that!!!

some1 like evan centopani or frank mcgrath would be sick

hmmm I think there would be a huge amounts of gaps in time.

But yes it could be good if he was struggling for money and had to do g4p and do grapefruits etc.

Also maybe working as a bouncer and trying to get it all together. Preparing for a contest and the pressures of work and personal life etc.

i was thinking maybe he would be up and coming but not juicing heavy, then something in his personal life goes bad(girl or sumthing) and he loses it and juices his mind out and becomes a monster and self destructs then finds himself...

Well if the public could get past that stigma, it would be a really good movie if well written. The struggles of a competitive bodybuilder trying to make it would be a real eye opener to many of what we go through (juicer or not). The financial aspect of paying for food, supps, etc., working a full time job while fitting in workouts everyday, bringing your own food everywhere and eating right while others are pigging out around you, the stresses of dieting, everything.

Totally agree. It would make a great movie. But I dont think adding that extra perspective of 'supps' would be a good thing, especially for the public.

Maybe they could do something in addition to bodybuilding.. Like boxing.. and maybe even another sport.. One that isn't as 'extreme' as bodybuilding. But yeah, difficult to make it appealing to your everyday joe. Idea would totally work though.

Did everyone forget that The Wrestler had mickey rourke using sterons. Even though the movie had sterons it still won awards because of the acting and story.

Steroids wasn't the base of the movie. Steroids is the base of pro bodybuilding.

Doesn't mean it wouldn't make a good straight to DVD movie. They could even sell copies at expos.

On a more serious note OP's idea is pretty **** and there's a 80% chance that it would end up being a disaster if it got into some ****head directors hands who'd portray bbers as drug addicts etc. Even if that is the case sometimes.

The closest you'll get to a bbing movie is Pumping Iron. Period. Anything else would fail IMO.

This, has everyone forgotten that 50% of all movies have drug reference and quite a few even have scenes of drug use. I suppose the public would view juice as far worse then shooting heroin directly into your eyeballs though. Damn you Ben Johnson!! you are the solo reason for all this
