Apparently, I am not good luck for Bos. First time I met her and trained she attempted 135 on bench press and failed (got it later). This time she gets the stomach bug and can't train. HOWEVER, she is good luck for me. First time, I attempted and got 145 on bench press for a new PR. This time, I ended up getting 10 knees to elbows (hanging ab exercise). video to be posted in Amazon Bragging rights journal. So, I guess the moral of the story is....Bos is my good luck charm. hehe.
Either way I had a great time talking nonstop about lifting and dieting and all that jazz with someone who actually wanted to do the same. It was great!!!!

Lol...yeah, I guess they are hard...
On another note, wanted to confess that my diet is crap the past few days. Major life stress going on, and yes...I'm a stress eater. Briefly, my kids went to see their dad over spring break. Several years ago he left SA on 2 weeks notice and went back to live with his parents, leaving custody of the kids to me. Well, when Finn (my 10 yr old) is with his dad, he will say he wishes he could live with him. This week, my ex told Finn, sure..he could move to MO as long as it was ok with me. And ...ummm...NO it is NOT ok with me, and I am now dealing with an angry and devastated 10 year old. And I know the confrontation with my ex is coming soon...and Im not looking forward to dealing with it.
So anyway...thats my confession. I'll be back on the wagon.....soon"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become." Buddha

3/24: Deadlifts and some arms
Nice deadlifting session yesterday. Started warming up with 95 and did 6 or 7 sets of increasing weights at various reps to 255. Did 3 reps at 255 with nice form, I think and felt strong. Today Im sore in all the right places and have some nice shin bruises
So it was something like
w/up @ 10 @ 95
10 @ 135
10@ 175
8@ 205
4@ 225
3@ 255
fail at 285
Planned to do a few bi/tri exercises after but ran out of time so only did:
Preacher Curl:
3 x 10 @ 50, 60 60 lbs
Close Grip BP on smith w/throw:
3 x 10 @ 20, 50, 50 added to smith
Working on heavy squats today. Legs are still sore from lunges the other day, so we'll see how it goes..
Happy Sunday friends!"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become." Buddha

Bummer about your back still hurting. Hopefully it won't take you the full 6 weeks to bounce back. I'd go crazy if I couldn't really lift like I wanted to for that long.
And it sounds like a bunch of us could all use a chill pill. I know I've got some left over ;P Hope all your drama passes over without incident.Coming out of "retirement"...Meg is training for a Figure competition...again!!!

Let's get the rock outta here! This is awesome!
Boz, catching up in here and sorry to hear about all this stuff going on. Some days you go out there and you live life to its fullest, and other days it's everything you have just to survive.
I think we all need to go on vacation or something, seems like a lot of us are under the gun lately...
And certainly, call whenever you need!

Started my physical therapy today ( after my car accident almost a month ago). My hip has been hurting again, it hurts to sit down, etc...even on rest days. My PT says my gait isn't right, and she can see that my musculature is starting to get imbalanced. For example: Well, anyone who has seen my pics knows I have fairly distinct lower back muscles and a very deep groove in my spine...thanks to lots of deads ...anyway, one side is now protruding a lot more than the other. It's visible when Im just standing relaxed...not good. Apparently, my whole right side is pretty messed up...blerg. There are issues with the muscles and the tendons in my hips..
So I will have to take it easy with the weights for a while. If I feel any discomfort Im to stop immediately, though I have no restrictions on my training. But clearly trying to squat 300 is out of the question. My plan is to keep my compounds where they are for a while, and to decrease weight and add volume when I feel off. I may lift one less day a week, to allow for more recovery. Right now, my body seems to be under a lot of stress...my goals have changed accordingly. My priority is healing...Im in this for the long haul.
How this effects my contest prep remains to be seen. But Im not stressing about it...what will be will be"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become." Buddha

Sorry to hear about the ongoing physical troubles. Hopefully the PT will get you straightened right out. Sounds like your attitude is great though, it will all get better!

Blerg is right but I'm happy that you said you are not going to stress about the contest and what will be will be. Stress = cortisol which isn't good anyway
So what exactly are they doing for you in PT? Or did they send you to a Chiropractor? Seems like your muscles are just freeked out and have locked themselves, maybe consider a deep tissue massage and let them know about your hips. They may be able to really get those muscles to release your pelvis and spine.-KimP

The PT is using electrical stimulation, heat and ultrasound first and then doing deep tissue stuff. She seems smart and actually trained(for PT) with a guy(PT) who started out as a bodybuilder, so she's worked with lots of athletes.
So yeah, we'll see what happens. I've prioritized my short term goal which is to lean out and look awesome for my reunion After that we'll see where I am..."All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become." Buddha
