bodybuilding is a passion. Hes getting paid to train and travel the world to compete. He might not be making millions but atleast hes doing something he loves and is getting paid to do it. Brb working 9-5 office job lol

Fair enough, they get money while doing something they enjoy. I'm just referring to the guy I quoted about Aleksey becoming "rich" simply off bodybuilding. I'm doing some research now, and apparently Jay Cutler was into real estate before getting big (according to an old thread here), and some of the top pros make the low six figure mark. Very good income, but rich? Not really by American standards.

I assume your not a bodybuilder, in fact most people on here probably are not competative bodybuilders, but this is a site for bodybuilding and most of the principals in getting aesthetics have developed from bodybuilding, dieting etc..

No strawman. You set up a false dichotomy. You infer that you either have to have the goal of getting huge ala Aleksey to be a bodybuilder, or you aren't one. I'm not a competitive bodybuilder ala ronnie, jay, aleksey, but the term bodybuilder is not reserved for just those whom I listed and those who wish to be that big. A bodybuilder is someone who uses muscular hypertrophy to reshape their body. I.e. they lift weights to gain muscle mass. If it ends at a certain weight because they are happy and lift to maintain, that doesn't make them any less of a bodybuilder.

only a small amount of the top pros have a lot of money. guys like ronnie and jay for example are part of the handful of bbers that can make a good living from bbing alone. the other pros sometimes have to do g4p stuff and usually work regular 9-5 jobs in combination with bbing just to make ends meet.

i agree with this but a lot of people on this site will say you're not a bodybuilder unless you're competing. which i think is crap because what if i never lifted a weight in my life but i like to enter open amateur bodybuilding comps? so then im a bodybuilder? even if i dont lift? i dont think so

My trainer is an IFBB pro, over 40, who is sponsored, flown out all over the country, makes several K/week training, and is living large. I bet you've never heard of him either.

are you serious? plenty of pros and nevermind the aspiring pros do g4p dude... you can't make a living off bodybuilding if you aren't winning contests on the regular, especially with so much money spent on food and drugs
