Maybe thread is too much information....
I can't pinpoint what in my diet may cause this...its been going on for a while. My poo is very large and prob hard and is causing some blood. It's coming out at once, very long and solid.
I would prefer to add something to my diet before getting miramax or some type of medical stool softener.
I get plenty of fiber, big bowl of oats in the morning, whole wheat sandwich, green veggies about every night.
Rough Daily Diet
Breakfast - 8 eggs, big bowl of oats
Post Workout - Universal Torrent, 1 piece of tilapia, bowl of mixed greens or bowl of beans
Work Lunch - Small amount of Tortilla chips with about 2 cups of whole grain rice mixed with steamed veggies, and tuna...w/ protein shake in milk
Next Meal - Spaghetti (whole wheat pasta) with lots of tuna/mushrooms...PB and sugar free jelly on whole wheat or grilled chicken breast strips on whole wheat
Dinner - Usually a Turkey Burger or Rotisserie Chicken with Steamed green giant veggies
I supplement multivitamin, fish oil, and bcaa's

More water, and even more fiber. Try mixing some wheat bran into your cereals; 45-50% fiber content.

Does your multi contain iron? Males don't need this and it causes constipation. I know from hard experience (literally)

Your diet could be better all around. There's NO FRUIT listed for one, also no good fats like olive oil besides the little there is in the fishoil. I also suspect you might not eat as much veggies as you think you do.

increasing fibre to sudden can lead to diarrhea.. maybe add some prunes to your oatmeal (thats if you eat oatmeal) or like others have said, adding water (try drinking 1-2litres more) plus a moderate fibre diet for awhile..
- If you can't explain it simply, then you don't understand it well enough.

As others have suggested water, fiber, or for a temporary solution get some Miralax.

fruit is rare cause i think its expensive lol....Harris Teeter has apples for more than a buck. I used to get tangerines from costco but they quit selling them. Bananas i get every now and then. But fruits are not common.
I get fat in my natty PB and tilapia (fish)
Do to my work schedule i have to pre-cook a lot of stuff...I do have a lot of veggies in both my lunch, dinner, and post workout meal. My eggs have olive oil spray but during the week i don't have time to "cook"...i don't even know what to use OO in. When i cook steaks i rub OO on them, thats the only thing i use it for at this point (no chef)
I used to get double fiber bread by arnold, now i get double protein. The double fiber made me poo like 3 times a day.
Also over the weekend, my diet was out of sync and i didn't get too much protein. For mon and tues everything was softer than normal. Could too much protein be causing this?
my multi has 6mg of iron, so i take in 12mg a day. But i've been using the same multi for years and haven't had this problem that long.

The blood might be hemorrhoids. If it's painless bleeding it's definitely hemorrhoids...basically it's a male version of a period...

all right here is the deal, low fiber = fewer bowel movements
lots of fiber no water= fewer bowel movements
lots of fiber+ water= more bowel movements
-

The blood is from the poo. My poo is too big for the exit point, and it hurts and burns. Earlier this week when my poo was soft for whatever reason there was no blood. It's from stretching that area.
My amount of bowel movements are normal...once a day and sometimes twice. Its the size and hardness of the poo.
I drink plenty of water but it must be something in my diet. I want to try to solve it without having to purchase an expensive OTC stool softener

Too much protein is definately causing all this. It happened to me when I was younger, I had exactly the same symptoms as you. You have too much meat in your diet, not enough fruits and veges (plant based foods). Your eating way too many eggs as well (3 is plenty) eggs are very rich in general. Way too much protein. Halve that protein, add in good fats, nuts and seeds (high in fibre and protein), lots and lots water and green tea. If you try that you will feel much better in general and things will go back to normal.
I had the same problem when I was trying a high protein diet. You are getting more than enough proteins from food, I don't see why you are taking protein shakes....waste of money, use that money for good quality fruits and veges, nuts and seeds etc. Also it wont hurt to see a doctor just to double check everything, but I am sure you will be perfectly fine, as long as you down the protein, you simply don't need that much protein (as I have said in many posts). Try what I have said and if it doesn't work, I am more than happy that you let everyone on this forum know that I am wrong!Last edited by Steve27; 11-13-2010 at 03:21 PM.

Apples and bananas aren't expensive here especially if you can get them in bulk. And peanutbutter can actually block you up. I bet if you added say some yam, an apple, and some more olive oil to your diet you would notice quite a difference, but it's your ass.
If nothing else make sure the blood is not dark because if it's dark that can be something more serious, (like internal bleeding).

why is softer better....I mean if it's softer doesn't it smell more and is more messy...I like it when poop just slides out but not soft, hard enough that it leaves no residue. lol!

8 egg whites is only about 30g of protein
and take the protein shakes w/ my lunch b/c its very carb heavy so i try to balance somewhat. I also take it at my 2nd job because I eat before i go and when i get home but the 5 hours or so i'm gone, i just take a protein shake and two nature valley bars with me. I'm working a labor intensive job there too so i want some protein and then some carb intake from the nature valley. We don't have breaks at that job to sit down and prepare stuff, its kinda eat as u work type deal.
I always try to add fruits but they go bad too quick...like if i buy bananas for the week, by the 6th or 7th day they're half black.
bananas aren't bad but my gf likes apples and shes paying over a buck for an apple and i think thats ridiculous....
and i'm not constipated, i'm pooing on a normal schedule its just the size and solidness of the poo. I'm not sure if u took it of me being constipated or the poo being a cinder block
and the blood is a lighter red
I think my water intake is good, plus i add about 64oz of green tea a day at least, and maybe 2 or 3 shakes (1 PWO, and 1 or 2 protein)
I do pee quite often, maybe that is counteracting some of the water intake?
softer is easier to drop and it'll break up if too big....I'm pretty much pooing one huge solid 14-15 inch turd and it's like 30 secs of pain to drop it

I take in 8 whole eggs per day so I agree you protein doesn't seem too high but you might need to balance it out with other things. If you refuse to buy much fresh fruit what about canned fruit like pineapple? You mentioned you're out for 5 hours, you could easily add something like 1/2 cup of canned pineapple. You could also supplement fiber with psyllium or such.

maybe...i don't dislike fruit, its just it seems to go bad so quick. I used to eat salads all the time, one of my favorites, but the lettuce goes bad so quick
my first job i can take as long as i want for lunch, my 2nd job they are so anal about us eating i pretty much have to sneak my protein shake and nature valley bars its ridiculous
