Hey everyone, I take Creatine Ethyl Ester capsules made by SNI. It says to take 3 capsules 30 minutes before your workout and to take 3 more immediately after your workout. However, it does not say if I should take it on off days. I have been searching on the Internet for this answer endlessly, with no luck.
Does anyone know if you are supposed to take creatine ethyl ester (when in a cycle) on days you don't lift??
My roommate says you are supposed to take it on non-lifting days, but he doesn't know how much to take or when.
Can anyone possibly help me???
Thank you so much!!!

Hey thanks for the replies
Thanks for the replies guys. Seeing the money go down the toilet hurts my feelings because I'm Jewish... just kidding!
But really... I have seen some results with CEE and I've heard it's much better than Mono because it doesn't cause water retention/bloating. I've only heard good things about CEE.... why are you guys so down on it?

Yes sir, it is, seeing as people just crapped on CEE with no reasoning and I'm a believer in facts. I haven't really heard anything bad about CEE so I'd like to know why it's being hated on to the extent that it is.
I'd also like to know the answer to my original question, too. That is, how much I'm supposed to take on off days.
If anyone has anything CONSTRUCTIVE to say, please chime in! If not, then please don't.
Thanks so much!

Since when is supplement marketing and company propaganda considered "facts?"
Consider the source of all your information.
You've "SEEN" results of creatine usage? Lol, no you didn't.
Kre-alkalyn is just as much of a waste if not more considering it's more expensive.
Get yourself some creatine monohydrate. Take 5g EVERY day.

As already mentioned, don't take CEE at all. Science has shown us it's unstable in water, rapidly converts to creatinine and just plain old doesn't work. So, don't take it Pre, Post or on off days.
KreAlk is 99.9% creatine monohydrate. You're paying a lot more for that .01% of buffer that's not been proven to be more effective.
Go buy some Creapure. It's dirt cheap and actually works.
Take 3-5g Pre or Post on workout days. I like a modified loading protocol @10g for 4-5 days before switching to just the 3-g on workout days. It's not required - it's a personal thing.
EDIT: ehh.. now it's getting muddy with the previously suggested 5g ED protocol (which is fine too). There's too many ways to just explain like this. Remember K.I.S.S.Originally Posted by jasonw86

You obviously rely on either sales tactics and/or word of mouth when reading articles on CEE. You won't find the truth about the matter unless you research the scientific data. It does in fact exist.
You'd see much more positive results with creatine monohydrate, ect.
No better than the other useful forms of creatine [and definitely not worth the extra cash].
Well I can't speak for CEE however, there is absolutely no need to supplement the other [useful] forms of creatine on the off-days.
CEE = creatinine = flawed logic~

Creatine monohydrate makes you bloated and gross. Everyone knows that.
You laugh and say I fall for "marketing/sales tactics" propaganda, yet you guys are surprised I am hesitant to believe YOUR PROPAGANDA???
This site sells stuff, too. I see the advertisements. Considering that I just registered today, I'm shocked that I'm not the biggest n00b on these boards! Lolz

There are studies showing mono to be effective. One of the few supplements that actually works aside from Cell Tech. There are also studies showing that CEE doesn't work.
Curious... where do you get your info?
Also not EVERYONE gets bloated taking mono.
Troll away though. Pretty sure that's what you're really doing."why work your biceps, when you can just buy a smaller shirt" - mavrick77

First of all, I'm not a troll. I just wanted help with CEE... didn't know a neo-nazi movement against it existed to this extent.
Secondly, so it's my scientists vs. yours???
Thirdly, this is my second cycle with CEE and I've put on a fair amount of lean muscle. It makes my pumps better and my results have gotten better steadily (5lbs a week here, a few extra reps there, etc). Overall, it's helped proportion my body better. I'm not a scientist or a troll. I'm just a guy who has had some positive gains with CEE... it also makes me less sore then when I don't take it.

Where are all the trash talkers now??
And to the "nice, helpful people" here -- the ones who were chastising me and crapping on CEE -- are older. I always respect my elders, but I don't know if the research you look at is recent/current/relevant.
You have been using supplements that you've probably been using for years, and that's impressive as well as fair. However, at the same time, you don't have to just trash on things because they're newer and less established then something around since the 80s. You can be open to differences and not so hostile. I mean, jeez.

Let's try this one more time.... CEE = GARBAGE
Say wut? I referred to [actual] science. You merely referred to brotology and/or sales tactics. Big difference.
You would have put on significantly more lean muscle with creatine monohydrate.

The effects of creatine ethyl ester supplementation combined with heavy resistance training on body composition, muscle performance, and serum and muscle creatine levels
in the present study participants ingested twice the recommended dose of creatine ethyl ester, yet the CRT group resulted in significantly higher levels of serum creatine than the CEE group
Serum creatinine was greater in the CEE group compared to the PLA (p = 0.001) and CRT (p = 0.001) groups. Further analysis revealed significant elevations in serum creatinine with the CEE group that occurred days 6 (p = 0.007), 27 (p = 0.005), and 48 (p = 0.005).
In the CEE group, creatinine levels increased 3-fold after the loading phase, and continued to be elevated above normal values throughout the study. This observation can likely be based on the premise that creatine ethyl ester has been shown to be degraded to creatinine in stomach acid (Tallon). Creatinine levels for the CRT group did elevate, but stayed within the normal range of 0.8–1.3 mg/dL.
In light of the results for serum creatine and total muscle creatine, based on the premise that serum creatinine levels for CEE were significantly increased at days 6 and 48, our results seem to indicate that creatine esterification does not provide a superior alternative to creatine monohydrate for muscle creatine uptake.
Conclusion
Creatine ethyl ester did not show any additional benefit to increase muscle strength or performance than creatine monohydrate or maltodextose placebo. Additionally, total body mass, fat mass, fat-free mass, and thigh muscle mass were not significantly enhanced with creatine ethyl ester supplementation compared to placebo or creatine monohydrate groups.
Since creatine ethyl ester supplementation showed a large increase in serum creatinine levels throughout the study with no significant increase in serum and total muscle creatine content, it can be concluded that a large portion of the creatine ethyl ester was being degraded within the GI tract after ingestion. Furthermore, it appears that the skeletal muscle uptake of creatine ethyl ester uptake was not significant enough to increase skeletal muscle creatine levels without significant degradation to creatinine occurring.~

So you're getting your newb gains while coincidentally taking a supplement. Good for you?
I'm highly disappoint in your asinine remark. I would have expected someone with your reputation and being a representative of one of the top companies on bb.com to have some sort of a useful post, rather than something demeaning. Glad to see you think it's funny I'm passing along a number that, as far as I have seen, has been popular consensus. If you would be so kind as to please EXPLAIN what is so wrong about 5g of mono, that way your post isn't utterly useless and disrespectful, that would be great.
Thanks.
