    SS: Squat starting position question

hi guys just want to ask about your squat starting position and end position on knees, do you guys lock your knees and legs straight or do you have a slightly bent knees while having your butt out. I dont see it clearly in the book andn i some of the vids. thanks guys. Rip says to finish standing up does this mean that i should lock my knees and make my legs straight?

Always keep the knees bent, just slightly. Never lockout .

I gotta agree never lockout completely this hyperextends the knee and will eventually lead to some major issues that you do not want. I poke my butt out right before I descend into the rep then at lockout and bring my hips back forward but I never slam my knees into lockout.

I'll listen to the guy above with the 500 lb squat. From what I've read, the knee is supposed to be more stable when locked out.
