I just saw your journal and at 9 weeks pregnant I thought I would follow along to keep inspired. I only walked the first 8 weeks and started back to lifting light this week. I did IVF so it's a long road and overly cautious. I'm already starting to get a baby bump. I think my stomach looks like yours at 22 weeks! I know everyone is very different. Congrats to you!

I feel pretty good today. I woke up and came very close to going back to sleep, but I managed to force myself to go to the gym. I ended up having a great pull workout. I really just need to force myself to get up in the morning. My laziness/tiredness in the morning is mostly mental.
I dragged my husband to a Lamaze class last night. He now knows what a mucous plug is. Poor guy...
Big weekend this weekend. We are moving into our new apartment. Yay! We're staying in our same building, so it should be an easy move. We're upgrading from a 1 BR apartment to a bigger 1 BR apartment. lol. This one has a home office area though, and an extra bathroom, so that'll be really nice. I haven't packed at all. I bought a couple of those large plastic bins, and the plan is to fill them with crap, load them on a luggage cart, bring them up to our new place, unpack them, and repeat the process until we're done. We have movers coming on Sunday to help with the furniture. I'm really looking forward to settling in the new place though. I can finally start buying nursery furniture and other baby gear. Maybe then it'll finally sink in that we're having a baby. It's still so surreal and hypothetical at this point.

Thanks! I am on week 10 and I haven't been sick or really that tired. I actually made it till 11pm last night without too much of a problem!
My clothes are starting to get tighter, but not sure if that is the cheesecake or the baby. I think I need to watch my sweets...there is enjoying and then indulging. I'm doing the latter right now. Congrats on the new place! I see you live in NY so I'm sure have a something bigger than a smaller 1 BR is great news. I just cannot imagine, we live in a 5 BR house with just two of us and I need more space sometimes!
Are you creating your own workouts, I have just started lifting again this past week and I am very cautious. I know the "dont' lay on your back" after the first trimester and increased heart beat, but that's about it.

That's great that you haven't been sick or tired. You deserve an easy pregnancy after having a difficult time getting pregnant. Hopefully it continues for the next 30 weeks!
I've been doing a push/pull routine. Nothing too crazy. It's not too different than my normal routine except no more walking lunges or flat bench.

Just wanted to check in... I've been avoiding the gym and this log all week. The weekend was exhausting. In the middle of our move, a friend of mine from Chicago showed up at my door and surprised me. She and a few of my friends threw me a baby shower, so I got to take a few hours off from the move. It was a lot of fun, and I got a lot of great gifts. I felt very loved
After the shower we continued moving all our stuff up to the new apartment. So far I love the new place, even though it's only about 150 square feet bigger than the old one. This whole baby thing is starting to feel a lot more real now, which is both exciting and scary.
I avoided the gym this week because I've been too busy unpacking and organizing the new apartment. Also, since I was on my feet all weekend, they are ridiculously swollen, along with my whole lower legs. They are completely unrecognizable, and the swelling only goes down a little overnight. I'm not even sure I could get my sneakers on to go to the gym. I don't want to stop though, so I plan on going back to the gym next week.
Tomorrow I'll take my 34 week "progress" picture.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I absolutely can NOT get motivated to go to the gym lately. Today I even woke up early to go to the gym, got dressed for it, had some coffee, and then STILL didn't make it to the gym. I found enough things to distract me that I ran out of time. Grrr...
Here's my 34 week progress picture:
And for those with stomach tattoos, I decided to take a picture of mine so you can see how it's holding up. So far, so good, but I'm a bit worried about what it will look like post-partum. Hopefully it will shrink back down without any distortion... Anyway, here's the dark side of the womb

Thanks Lauren! The big test will be after I deliver to see how it holds up...
I hit a big milestone this weekend - 35/35, which means I'm 35 weeks pregnant and I have 35 days to go. In two weeks I'll be considered full term, and my doctor will find it completely unremarkable if I go into labor after that. I should really get moving with this nursery... The most important thing I need right now is a dresser. I have a bunch of baby clothes but nowhere to put them. I need a crib too, but that can wait a few months since I already have a bassinet that I plan to use at the beginning.
I didn't go to the gym at all last week or weekend, but I did get some exercise. We own a cabin upstate, and I had to go up there because we were getting a generator installed. While I was there, I ordered a cord of wood, which got delivered to (i.e. dumped on) our front lawn. Here's what a cord of wood looks like:
Over the course of about 5 hours, while waiting for a propane tank to be delivered and the generator to be installed, I hauled all of the wood up the steps of our front porch and stacked it. It was a lot of work, but I finished:
After that I pretty much wanted to rest all weekend.

Wow! First off congrats on being soooo close to delivering the baby! You look fantastic! When I was as far along as you, it took more motivation to get out and exercise...sometimes my pelvic area was so sore that I just wanted to sleep so it's understandable....don't beat yourself up...your body is working as it is growing that baby! I hope you did rest all weekend, after moving all that wood, you deserve it!
Push it to the limit!!!!

Gosh, you're getting so close and yay for hitting this 35 week milestone. Don't feel bad about not working out so much, it's hard moving around at the end of pregnancy. I'm not there yet, but I do remember from when I was pregnant with Heidi that it's definitely harder to get things done towards the end. But it sounds like you managed to get some good exercise in anyway from hauling all that wood. That sounds exhausting, but it looks great.
On a mini-cut, then onto maintenance mode for the summer.

Thanks for checking up on me I have not been online in a while. I never resumed exercising after our move in November. I got distracted by all the stuff I had to do to get ready for the baby, and then I lost momentum and motivation.
I do have a baby update though - it's a girl!!! My Christmas baby arrived promptly on her due date, December 25th at 7:12 a.m.
Introducing Avery Michelle, 6 lbs, 6 oz. and 21" long:
Labor was a piece of cake once I got the epidural. I slept through most of it until I was fully dilated, and then I only pushed for 7 minutes and she was here. It was a truly incredible and surreal experience. Once her head and shoulders were out, the doctor had me grab her and pull her the rest of the way, so I was the first to know that she was a girl. It was really cool.
We went home the next day and we've been settling into a routine. She's a great baby so far and I'm enjoying being a mom and getting to know her.
I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!

Yay! Congratulations on your baby Girl - What an unbelievable chrissy present for you!
I am so pleased to hear things went so well during the labour, and that you are all at home safe, and sound.
She is TINY & I love that name! Very unique.
Best of luck for the next few weeks (months, and years, too) & keep us updated to how things are going!
