Are weight gainers even worth it?

A solid (not 80g sugar..) weight gainer is roughly 40-60$ but only has about 18 or so servings. Also the way they get a higher caloric content of a gainer is normally based on many many grams of waxy maize, maltodextrin, carb. My question is, is it really even worth it to take a gainer, like will you gain too much fat? Because your supplementing mabe a days worth of carbs in one drink. If it really isnt that bad, what about the price, is 18 servings for 50$ even worth it?

One last thing.... Wouldnt it be better to just to get 2 scoop of whey, and say a crap ton of bananas and some peanut butter blended up to get dem calories in?

Gainers can have a place... I think they work for people who need a mid day snack (even a partial serving), and cant keep bananas, milk, etc sitting around with them all day.

But ideally, yes, some peanut butter, oats, fruit, etc will be better, usually for taste, cost, and effectiveness.

As far as gaining fat, that would only happen if you had all the calories, and did not exercise, burn the bulk of the calories. You have to consume more calories than you burn to gain weight, how far a person may push that is up to them.

yes yes and more yes. i lost alot of strength and weight boxing. was down to 143lbs. in a month and a half i am up to 150lbs and my strength went up too. weight gainers are awesome if you have a crappy on the go schedule, as a meal replacement, or pre and post workout. how can you ask if they are worth it? if its what your looking for then yes. if not then no. you cant ask other people that question really. i got monster mass btw only other one i would touch is realmass i drink 2-3 shakes a day. one key thing is i use milk. so i am drinking 8-12 cups of milk a day. 1 cups is in a gallon. and to all i still have abs bodyfat went up maybe 1-2 percent. awesome bulk though weight gainers are very convenient!!!!
