Thoughts? Also a golds gym xr30 for cheap which i realized was crap. Not sure about these other two pieces... is there room to make a few dollars? Is the leg press half decent to keep? I do not know about decent lat pulldowns or leg presses.

Recently picked up a couple of Crap (cap) 45lb plates for 20 bucks. He only had two left so without worrying about how much they actually weighed i took them. Got home and weighed each of them and to my shock they bought weighed 44.6 lbs! Did i get lucky with them weighing the same?
I was going to try and get these but the guy emailed me back saying he had a guy coming to look at them. Not sure if he ended up selling any, but if this hasn't been posted yet and you live in the Long Island area it's worth a shot seeing if he still has them.

Any thoughts on this setup? h t t p ://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/spo/2826547353.html (not enough posts yet to post active links, remove spaces in http)
I currently only have a handful of dumbbells (bought while doing p90x for the past year) and now looking to get a bench with some free weights to expand my routine. From what I have read so far, its a low end bench, but it has 375lbs of weights with a stand. I'm not looking to put on a lot of muscle, just continue working on getting back in shape and adding a little mass. I'm a total newb to all of this. Thanks!

There's a IM super bench in the Austin area for $160.00 with dip and sit up attachments. It's the older white version but still not a bad deal.

What would a fair price on this piece be? May be able to pick it up for a decent price. Pretty excited.

Do you want me to sugar coat it or burst your bubble?
Ok, it sucks and I wouldn't buy it. This opinion comes from owning and using one just like it for 10 years. The guides are just square tubes and the smith bar rides on 4 individual bushings (plastic) inside of the box that goes around the chrome guide. The action was not smooth and would regularly stick and bind. It was also hard to hook the bar and I remember time and time again missing the locks when I wanted to rack the bar. It also had a very small rotation on the hooks, so I had to constantly focus on keeping the bar rotated forward. If I lost concentration and the bar moved backward.....it would smash into the rear posts (where it locks in) and jar my entire body....very uncomfortable....not to mention you should be concentrating on the lift when you're squatting.
The only good thing that machine ever did for me was bring me here. In 2008 I started researching equipment and my search brought me to bb.com.
I wouldn't get it at all, but I certainly wouldn't pay over $100 for it. The 200lb stack and the lat pd is the only thing worth a **** on that device.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news..... but that's my take on it and I thought you should know.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

Interesting, i thought body solid typically only made high quality stuff. I guess once again that is why i ask. TBH, i am looking to flip to finance more important purchases, and this comes with a full 300# olympic set (may or may not be body solid plates). Thought for 200 i could make a quick turn for someone looking for a smith machine with/pulldown with a cable instead of plate loaded.

Aha!!!! Flipping is different and $200 for that and a set of weights is pure profit. Around here I could get at least $300 for those items....probably more.
I picked up one like that in 2009, that didn't have a lat pd or stack. IIRC, I sold it for $150....... I'd have to think you could sell it alone for $200 easy.
Obviously, I would refrain from giving anyone access to my review .▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

That is more along the lines of what i am looking to hear! There is a parabody smith machine that looks comparable (even without the pulley) for 700 in my area... hasnt sold but makes a low price body solid look better. I have had great luck flipping weight sets here (usually thrown in a with a bench or something i dont need) to finance my new Valor da-6 and hopefully a johnny g spinner im looking to pick up.

FWIW, I sold an almost identical Body Solid smith (without the lat stack) last month for $100 and it was really beat. I would think that is you got the whole setup plus the 300lb O set for $200, you could flip it easy.
Are you buying it from a used equipment retailer? If so, then I am surprised to see it priced that low, unless that is a stock photo and actual unit is not as pristine as pictured unit.

Picking up a Hammer Strength Iso-lateral Leg Extension and Iso-lateral Prone Leg Curl for $400 total ($200/piece) tomorrow. I thought it was a good deal for 2 Hammer Strength pieces. I've used the leg extension before, but never used the prone leg curl. I've only used the Hammer Strength Seated Leg Curl.

So i missed out on the Body Solid Smith machine with weights i had posted about a few days ago. But i did just come home with 800lbs in plates, curl bar, bb, Marcy 848 benching (well worn), asstd standard dumbbell handles, a plate rack, and 2 Body Solid 30lb Kettle Bells.
All for $230. A lot of the plates are well worn and a bit rusty, but i figured with some elbow grease and rustoleum i can fix that problem. The kettle bells are sweet, and i realllllly needed a plate rack. Figure i can make a couple hundred off what i dont need. Just wanted to share what i considered a sweet CL score.
