fish oil does the opposite...read on the bottle, it says "a positive effect on the body's cells and helpt to maintain circulation, joint function, skin, immunity and triglyceride levels..."

Aside from the written stuff, since i've been taking fish oil i've noticed many positive effects.

Well, I bought some Spring Valley Fish Oil tabs yesterday at Wally World but have heard from people that they made their face break out. I have heard some people break out while taking it and some people it clears up their skin. Does it matter if you have oily or dry skin? I have semi-oily skin. I just dont want to break out from taking these.

Fish oil makes my hair and skin noticeably more oily. This is healthy though, at least for someone like me who normally has dry hair and skin.

The only way Fish Oil would cause acne is if you broke open the gel caps and rubbed them all your face.

Iacne could be a deficiency from EFA. Although I have seen a great improvement in my skin by increasing my intake of EFA, alone did not cure my acne. Fish oil is a great source of EFA so like everyone else has said it should help it rather then hurt.

Well, wouldnt if your skin is already fairly oily and the Fish Oil you are taking adds more oil to your skin then wouldnt that be a bad thing? Especially for the people that dont have dry skin like mentioned?

I know that some say it helps the cause of acne but I have heard the opposite as well.

IF Fish oil made your skin more oily then yes that would be bad, but it doesn't. How is your diet? Are you drinking plenty of water?

Yes. I do drink lots of water but still get the occasional breakout and do have semi-oily skin. Im just new to taking Fish Oil and dont want to have it cause my face to break out.

I did a little research on Fish Oil and acne and most say just taking 1 a day helped with the acne in their experiences. Thing is what about taking 6 a day, 2 at a time, 3x a day.....or 1 at a time, 6x a day like recommended for athletes or lifters. Just dont want excess oil to cause my face to be overly oily.

Maybe Im just worrying too much about this and just need to try it out, if I do break out, then quit using it.

Taking one 1000mg capsule a day I was completely fine with no negative side effects but when I went to 3000mg a day I have since noticed my skin and hair being more oily. I'm going back to 1000mg tomorrow to see if things go back to normal.

I dont think so. I am about your age, i have no acne problem. Just dont make a mistake of thinking a mosquito bite as a pimple!
