Uni isn't hard to get into especially with some of the social sciences. But I do like the cost of tuition, agreed.

Which province? University of Alberta is gonna be costing me ~13k next year (2 semesters, books, residence, engineering).

And maybe its because I'm asian, but I honestly don't think university is that hard to get into, idiots with an 80% average and lots of volunteer hours is all it takes.

3000/ 5 classes. that's ****ing insane. i'm reading here that it costs like 20000 a semester for some schools. what the hell do they need that kind of money? must be some big D1 NCAA school or something.

4.0/4.0 unweighted, 4.8/4.0 weighted in HS.

    lolwat?

USA just has a wider range of schools. Just because WVU lets in everyone doesn't mean all of our schools are on that level.
Also, I think that pre-scholarship, my tuition is maybe $3700, taking 20 credits.

Agreed, all you need to get into a university is the dough, it's all a business these days, more enrollment is wicked fun for administration and share holders.
Don't feel bad, engineering costs 10K in Ontario, no residence, no books. Heaven help you if you're an international student.

you're 18 and a first year. the majority of students in 1st and 2nd yr are dumb as rocks. if they survive 2nd yr they'll most likely be legit students, but yeah i agree with you, 1st yrs especially are fckin retards. but that's to be expected. HS is nothing like college.

we're more of a quality > quantity country.
A few of the worlds top universities and business schools (maybe med schools too, but i dont really know much about them other than McGill) are in canada.

Richard Ivey, Schulich, Queens Commerce are all prestigious univs and internationally recognized.

Schulich was ranked with having the worlds best MBA program.. I believe by the Economist

the only uni's with any chance of top 50 in N.A. are UT, UBC, UA, Mcgill

Western is considered only a little above average in Canada.

    True.

One thing that I like is that it's harder for schools to become universities here. And even if a CC becomes a university most people still consider it a CC lol (like Grant Mac and Mt. Alison).

Don't feel bad, engineering costs 10K in Ontario, no residence, no books. Heaven help you if you're an international student.
Lol yeah, I was actually kind of planning on waterloo, and saw the average tuition for non-international engineering students totals $25k, so I decided fuk it.
