Weight doesn't mean everything, PROGRESS means a lot, I was a skinny dead-looking mofo at 100 pounds with like 10 inch arms going through tough life problems. I bulked to 140 and although I still count as skinny, I'm a hell lot better and healthy-looking, showing that my bulk was succesfull. I don't look dead anymore. So think again if you decide to come up with the lame "stats: 140 pounds, I wouldn't take advice from you", when trying to disprove a point I make.

try to imagine yourself talking to you guy friends(no homo). Just be really casual. Talk about random shiz and if you've got nothing to talk about just make **** up as you go lol. Also talk about things like waht they're did/doing on the weekend etc.
If you make them feel comfortable they'll be the ones holding up the conversation. Then all you have to do is smile and nod.

What I do is this
Just talk to the girls as if they were your guy friends
such as "hey whatsup"
"did you see the game last night"
etc
then get em in bed nd profit
but obviously change the subject lmao, tell said girl that she looks cute today or some bs

Go out on the "newbie mission". Have your parents drop you off at the local mall. Walk around through it and every girl you come across start a small conversation. Can be as small as just saying hi, or asking her a question about what looks good, etc. Do it for a few hours, try to do it to 15-20 girls.
Pretty much guaranteed to remove your social anxiety.

Don't be yourself.
Pretend you're some other guy who doesn't lack what you lack. Pretend to be confident if you're shy etc etc.. but not overly confident.
Slowly you'll get over it and you will one day become the guy you're pretending to be.
Of course this is epic fail if for some reason your reputation of being 'that awkward guy' is entrenched in your school. Then you're f*cked for 4 years.
Don't listen to these guys saying pretend you're talking to one of your male friends etc..
If you're having these problems then you're not the coolest guy to begin with so whatever your interests are will be unappealing to most girls. Just relax. As most have said in here just talk as if you were talking to your Male friends. Ask them what they have been up to or if they did anything nice over the weekend, when they reply with whatever, ask if they enjoyed it blah, blah, blah. It isn't hard, just get some confidence.
