I do not really have a problem with people that work out. But cross fit is ridiculous and the dudes that do it in my gym take up so much space, use all the bars(one time this group had all the oly bars) and in general just have the chip on my shoulder attitude all while wearing vibram five fingers.

If you train the WODs hard, and eat right and get lots of sleep, you will definitely gain lean mass, lose fat, and yes, you can build muscle mass with the crossfit protocol. More specifically, according to Coach,
Here is a hierarchy of training for mass from greater to lesser efficacy:
1. Bodybuilding on steroids
2. CrossFitting on steroids
3. CrossFitting without steroids
4. Bodybuilding without steroids
The bodybuilding model is designed around, requires, steroids for significant hypertrophy.
The neuroendocrine response of bodybuilding protocols is so blunted that without "exogenous hormonal therapy" little happens.
The CrossFit protocol is designed to elicit a substantial neuroendocrine whollop and hence packs an anabolic punch that puts on impressive amounts of muscle though that is not our concern. Strength is.
Natural bodybuilders (the natural ones that are not on steroids) never approach the mass that our ahtletes do. They don't come close.
Those athletes who train for function end up with better form than those who value form over function. This is one of the beautiful ironies of training.

I agree with them taking up the gym. Thats why they have the class. So one person doesnt take up a ****ing quarter of the gym doing all there ****. If your gonna do that at least try and plan it to when its kinda slow..
The second part is just funny though. I did crossfit when i was cutting and it was basically cardio. Some things we did gave me some results..like 50 pull ups.. mostly cause I didnt do there kip ups or whatever so ended up doing like 30-50 strict form ones.
just hilarious because I know some kids that have been doing it for about 8-12 months that have put on at most 5-10 pounds maybe, and are generally around the same strength as before as well.
chicks in there are so hawt tho..

it's all about finding out what works for you and what you will actually go do. there is like a crossfit community that keeps people into it. it draws people into and people continue to do the work outs and see results.

Crossfit is so retarded. It's 100% high rep work beyond that of what a bodybuilder begins to approach, has an even smaller neuromuscular effect, not to mention that neuromuscular effects dont change hypertrophy, they affect coordination and strength via muscle fiber recruitment and efficiency. So ****ing retarded.
