If you were training for max pushups...and your usual chest day was Mondays, how would you train for pushups?

No idea. My guess is that you train high reps doing push-ups with variable positioning of your hands. Maybe do CG bench or reverse-grip benching w/ your tris using high reps, too.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

I think benh helps a little however when i was really doing alot of pushups for my pt test (65 in a min i could pull of 80 reps maybe more) i did the 10 pushups an hour thing.. every hour your awake at the 60 min mark do ten p/u, then next week 15, then 20, you will be pretty suprized.. i added chair pushups between 2 chairs with my feet suspended too.. in about a month to 6 weeks you will be popping out pushups effortlessly..
